They're both popular and they've both had quite a few hits. Which do you prefer?

Not even close...LL Cool J.
The only quality song Luda ever put out was "Splash Waterfalls (Remix)." The rest of his stuff all sounds the same and its not even that good to begin with. That compared to LL classics such as "Loungin," "Around the Way Girl," "Mama Said Knock You Out," "Doin It," etc. Hell, even LL's new stuff like "Headsprung" is better than anything Luda ever did.

Ludacris runs this rap game. If LL and Luda had a freestyle battle, LL wouldnt stand a chance.

LL Cool J. He is one of the originals. He doens't need to try to make good music. And with Luda, um.....he's trying a little too hard.

I like them both, but I consider LL Cool J the MadonnaΒ of rap. He has a ton of hits just like Madonna.
Ludacris only has a few hits.
If any rapper needs a greatest hits album it's LL Cool J.

Easily LL Cool J, and easily Old School in general. They were more creative, interesting, and musical, and also more positive, humorous, and clever.

Easily LL Cool J, and easily Old School in general.Β They were more creative, interesting, and musical, and also more positive, humorous, and clever. If that's the case, then I would say Ludacris would have fit in better at the old school than the majority of the new-school rappers. That said, I'd still have to go with LL, even though he hasn't come out with anything really good in about a decade.
