From All Access Net News:
Oh Sh*t, KDWB Profanity-laced Off-Air Conversation Accidentally Airs On Sister KTCZ CLEAR CHANNEL AAA KTCZ (CITIES 97)/MINNEAPOLIS had an off-air profanity-laced conversation accidentally air in the background from sister Top 40/Mainstream KDWB's remote SATURDAY (8/26) at the STATE FAIR. The conversation between KDWB nightimer JJ and his board-op SHAWN aired on CITIES 97 around 9:30p for approximately 12 minutes.
According to local FOX 9 affiliate, here is an excerpt on what CITIES 97 aired, "Hello, can you hear me? SHAWN, this is JJ. Alright, it's about [expletive] time. Oh, [obsentity]. That's fine. We can laugh about it now. It's about [expletive] time."
KTCZ PD LAURENB MACLEASH told ALL ACCESS, "we are investigating a conversation that was broadcast over the air due to innocent error. The KDWB DJ had no idea he was on-the-air. No KTCZ-Cities 97 staff was involved. It was an equipment error that caused the off-air KDWB conversation to accidentally air on Cities 97. The conversation that took place may have contained inappropriate language.
"Our companyβs policy regarding radio broadcast indecency is clear. Indecent broadcasts will not be tolerated. Our company participates in company-wide training on Federal indecency rules and has procedures that detail swift and specific actions be taken if laws are violated."

Based on two incidents here recently in Tampa at Clear Channel's Mix 100.7 and 98 Rock, I expect JJ and Shawn will be looking for work soon. Clear Channel has a zero-tolerance profanity policy, accidental or not.

They also have a policy (at least here in Central Fla.) to air as many commercials as possible...
