This is expected, but congrats to Maroon5 anyway. I'm 100% sure they will prevail.
What the hell does "Dirt Off Your Shoulder" mean??!!
Avril Lavigne gaining more than Jessica Simpson!
I'm hoping Outkast goes recurrent before Linkin Park does.

She's 12, actually. And I agree that the song is really bad. Rooney's down 8 spins from yesterday. :( She's 13... and the chorus of that song is pretty catchy.

I'm surprised Usher isn't losing spins any faster than he is, seeing that "Burn" is quickly approaching the Top Ten. This is similar to what happened on the CHR/RHY and urban charts with Burn and Yeah!, so I am not all that surprised that it is also happening here on pop radio. However, where will Burn peak? That could be the bigger question. Is it just me, or does it seem that lots of songs suddenly got a boost in their bullets? Kimberley Locke is now +153! :o Avril over +200... it's a little shocking to me that's all. I wouldn't be surprised if Maroon 5's bullet is very temporary! :(

Yes! Now Maroon5's spincrease is up to 92. Of course Usher only decreases one, but at least it's still declining. I doubt that Maroon5 can take over by Sunday night's final update, but stranger things have happened. Meanwhile, Britney Spears continues to freefall in spins (-1008 now, the biggest decrease in the Top 30, as Jet loses 1005) and will very likely be surpassed by D12 by Sunday night. That song will very likely peak at number three as the top two are way far ahead and besides, Hoobastank will almost surely surpass it before Usher and/or Maroon5 weaken enough to fall below. Usher's new song isn't gaining as much as it was before (though 790 is nothing to sneeze at) and may wind up in the shadow of "Yeah" (can't call it recurrentitis, since "Yeah" isn't going to be recurrent for quite awhile yet). In a nutshell, there is still hope for "This Love" going to number one.

Does Kimberley Locke have any chance of holding on to her spot at #20 through Sunday night? Blink-182 seems to be gaining more and more on her, and Nickelback won't drop fast enough. I hope she holds on--she really needs this song to be a hit.

C'mon Maroon 5! You've been given a 2nd chance! Don't mess it up! GET RID OF USHER!!!!!
And thank God that horrific Three Days Grace song is going away. I hate everything about that song (pun intended).

Avril Lavigne is now only 4 spins behind the Black Eyed Peas, and has a 4 spin larger bullet, she should be able to make the top 15 this week! There is still hope for this song to make the top 10. "Don't Tell Me" may be hanging around for a while, it's already in it's 8th week and seems a long way from peaking yet, "Unwell" did the same thing.

Well, Usher still continues to lose spins very slowly, but Maroon5 has an increase of 179 and is within 100 spins away from Usher. I'm sure they won't catch up by the end of tonight, but, if trends remain the way they are by next Sunday, Maroon5 should grab their first #1 hit.

They won't make it this week. Yeah, that's unfortunate. Β They might not be able to score an "official" number one (reaching the top midweek seems, pretty much, guaranteed).Β We'll have to see where things go over the next week. Side note. Usher's back to a miniscule bullet. >:(

They should be able to get it next week though. My Band is WAY too far behind to catch up and the way they're slowing down, they may not get it.

Will "Don't Tell Me" pull an "Intuition"? I think if Avril keeps a steady bullet of 200-350 that she could still make top 10, especially since the hype of her next album is building steadily.

Well it looks like Evynescence will be able to outlast both Britney Speyrs and Jessicy Simpson after all. All is right with the world again.
What's more, Avril Lavigne has a good chance of reaching #13 next week. This will beat the peak of the first single from the second album by an unnamed pop singer who's just too dirty to mention. Sorry, I just can't help myself.

Thoughts regarding latest chart:
*****************************
Why do Three Days Grace suddenly have a strong triple digit bullet (+238) when just yesterday having a minuscule double-digit bullet? Can't this track, which really isn't radio-friendly for CHR/Pop, go away?
It seems Hoobastank is sabotaging D12's chances to have the next #1 song following Maroon 5. Their bullet is just short of four-digits and is right on D12's tail by a mere 225 spins.
Black Eyed Peas get their next Top 15 hit!
Blink-182 go Top-20 for the first time since the "Enema of the State" era!
Switchfoot is still showing legs, and may still have a shot at the Top 20. They'll have to surrender chart buildup to Sean Paul and Jay-Z first, though.
Avril Lavigne and Outkast are both showing resilience with their latest singles. "Don't Tell Me" suddenly has a replenished bullet after being in the double-digits at one point, while "Roses" has graduated from double to triple digit territory.
Looks like Rooney is done for! (-5, slips to #35!) :(
The Calling is doing quite well out of the box with their latest! With a bullet of +234 at #72, it enters the Top 20 Greatest Gainers!
Lenny Kravitz and Britney Spears debut on the chart, both with currently promising bullets!
Trapt, Twista, and Petey deleted are next up!
***********************************
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

They won't get it - in fact, the way Hoobastank is roaring up the chart right behind them, they'll probably even fall to #4 next week. Maroon 5 is right now a mere three plays behind Usher, so they should be #1 by the end of the day.

Can't this track, which really isn't radio-friendly for CHR/Pop, go away? May have been because of debuting on American Top 40, but I'm not definitely sure about that.
