Well the new R&R BDS vs Mediabase wars are probably getting started and a little searching on google has got me to discover a third monitored service I had never heard of. interestingly enough it's called... "Mediaguide". Hmmm sounds a whole lot like...well anyway. The site is: www.mediaguide.comTheir charts are on: www.mediaguide.com/solutions/charts/music.phpA sample chart: charts.mediaguide.com/format/AC_single.htmlThe idea seems to be the same concept as Mediabase or BDS but with a twist. They appear to get their panels by not installing a computer at the radio station, but rather listening to detections of internet streams of the stations broadcast. And the panels are huge! AC has nearly 190 reports! Much more than mediabases panel of 110 or BDS' puny 87 stations. Just how reliable the charts are is unsure, but the way they are presented is very simple and straightforward and almost looks like they ripped off the new R&R/Billboard charts. The coolest thing? They are all Top 50! Yes even for AC! The claim to monitor over 2,500 stations much more than the 1,800 or so Mediabase monitors and the 1,500 from BDS. Check out their site. What do you guys think, do they look promising? Do their charts lack authority. ? Will they boom or does it look like it's a bust?

I've seen these charts before... seeing as how "Over My Head" by The Fray somehow never made their pop chart (despite hitting Top 5 elsewhere), I'm not sure how much credibility they have.

I was excited when I first discovered them a couple of months ago until the missing Fray was pointed out to me. Now I've noticed that Nickelback's "Rockstar" isn't even on the mainstream rock chart. It's #1 on Mediabase.
Also on the R&B/hip-hop chart Omarion's "Entourage" debuts (or re-enters I should say) at #24 with a huge bullet despite it being on the chart for 12 weeks?? I don't follow the urban charts much but it doesn't seem right.
