With the advent of the "now in digital HD radio" on Z100, I made an observation. Lately, the sound quality (to me at least) on the station has sounded...different. I'm no sound techie, but I do know that radio uses a compression ratio of 4:1 to account for the disparity between loudness and treble/bass so everything sounds kosher.
What I'm getting at is 1) has anyone noticed a difference on Z100 in terms of sound...to me it seems "wider" in terms of stereo panning and has more reverb than usual and 2) does the HD digital radio signal have anything to do with the way the sound, well, sounds?

The HD signal shouldn't make any difference. I'm guessing Z just decided to fiddle with the processing.
