EDIT!: If you haven't done so already, the voting for graduation songs has begun! The vote is over at The Polling Booth board, and there are 14 songs up for voting, so check it out! (Voting ends 11am June 20, or when the topic reaches page 3 on the T.P.B. board) -------------- I'm thinking of playing the top 5 graduation songs of all time on my radio show for the-school-I-volunteer-for's graduation on June 28th. I've got a couple of songs in mind, but what other songs in the last 5 or 10 years (in addition to the ones I've listed below) are songs that might be considered grad songs? They don't necessarily have to be official graduation songs; whatever fits the theme is good.
- Eve 6: Here's To The Night - Green Day: Time Of Your Life (Good Riddance) - The All-American Rejects: The Last Song - The Ataris: In This Diary - Vitamin C: Graduation (Friends Forever)
I know there's more out there.

Dropline - Fly Away From Here (Graduation Day) (This barely missed the Top 40 in 2002.)
Baz Luhrmann Featuring Lee Perry - Everybody's Free (To Wear Sunscreen) (I can't believe nobody's mentioned this one yet... It peaked at #18 in 1999.)

and One Sweet Day with Mariah Carey. I disagree. This song is about death. I'll add Michael W Smith - Friends

Uh... Yeah! The lyrics are from a newspaper column directed at the Class of 1999. In fact, the first line of the song is, "Ladies and Gentlemen of the Class of '99..." The entire song is meant as advice for that year's graduating class.

Stand By Me is usually played at the middle school and high school. (that is, if someone doesn't write their own song for graduation)

I think of Mya's "Take A Picture" as a graduation song. This is such a beautiful song. I've been listening to it nearly non stop all day today. I should of used this for my class! >:(
