This has shown up on Mediabase with 35 spins on 3 stations. I assume it's from the Gap ads, but is there a full length version of this somewhere? It would be pretty weird if this caught on.

:o
I like it (nice take on the original), but it's hard to imagine any pop station today playing it in regular rotation. (I see WXSS Milwaukee accounts for 30 of those spins... they certainly have an interesting looking top 30).

Makes sense since the Gap ads have made people remember the song. I found myself humming it several times recently thanks to them.

What's the difference in the song? I love the original version, as well as the Isley Brothers's take on the song.

Kiss FM (WXSS) had a special top 103.7 songs of summer, as voted by members of their online "kiss klub". They played it continously, so I think it went about 6 or 7 times all weekend, but I listened quite a bit, and did not hear it. :o I like it (nice take on the original), but it's hard to imagine any pop station today playing it in regular rotation. Is this that song that goes "It's fresh, fresh! Exciting! So exciting to me!"

Me too, I can't get it out of my head. I still like the original version better, but this is fresh sounding.

I downloaded it off of iTunes and it's officially called the Philip Steir Remix.

I downloaded it off of iTunes and it's officially called the Philip Steir Remix. Interesting. Philip Steir did a remix of Steppenwolf's "Magic Carpet Ride" a few years back. It was used in commercials and appeared on the "Go" soundtrack. I guess he really likes reworking the older songs.

SEALS & CROFTS Summer Breeze Producer(s): Louie Shelton Writer(s): J. Seals, D. Crofts Publisher(s): Falzilu Publishing/ Duchess (BMI) Genre: AC Label/Catalog Number: Warner Bros. 101355 (CD promo) Source: Billboard Magazine Originally Reviewed: June 19, 2004
It has been nearly 32 years since James Seals and Dash Crofts took their classic "Summer Breeze" to No. 6, but thanks to the song's use in a Gap ad, all things old are new again. A gentle remix from Philip Steir and Leah Simon adds a light hip-hop beat—just cool enough to update the resilient tune but in no way distracting from or disrespecting the original. The result is pure seasonal bliss and a coup for AC radio. How often can the format bring back memories to the upper tier of its demographic while forging a new hit for the younger end? Not to mention that it sounds surprisingly vital and wholly novel. Sometimes inspiration feels oh-so-deliberate; in this case, "Summer Breeze" is as organic and fragrant as fresh-cut grass.—CT

So it's THIS song that's played in the GAP ads.
I'm impressed.

I won't chart this only because I absolutely love the original so much, this doesn't even compare to the music that's out today. Maybe if it were actually a cover, but this is just like a really late re-release.
I hate the scratch pad crap on this one though.

I've noticed that the GAP ads have more guitar in the remix than the All Access version. I liked the actual commercila version of the remix better.
