I was close. I think I mixed it up with "Like A Stone" somehow. The two aren't similar. Still, it means you don't need to hit the top 10 to potentially run your song, IMO, I guess.

Well it's pretty imminent now that it's going to make the top 40. Where's Casey to come out of retirement when you need him. That used to be the redeeming value for songs I like making the pop chart. Now they have that SeaCrest kid running it, and now there are none.

Rick Dees played this as the sure shot this week on the Weekly Top 40.

This great song lost its bullet today at #34 and I'm sad it never made a move to the top 10. "Take Me Out" is a great song and deserved a hell of a lot better. Its still in the top 20 at alternative but declining. IMO this song is 100 times better than any of the pseudo-rock that finds its way onto the Pop charts. If this songs fate at pop is any indication - rock is d-e-a-d at CHR/POP and I'm mourning its loss. I'm completley confused and disheartened by this songs failure to excite and connect with the pop crowd.
Franz........ya got robbed.

It's one of the best singles of 2004 and I truly wish it could go Top 10. However, we have to face the reality. I never thought from the beginning this could be a present-day Top 10 hit. I actually thought it wouldn't even chart, and am happy that it actually did and almost went Top 30. It just doesn't sound like a modern day CHR/Pop Top 10 hit. It's too good for pop radio. Sincerely, Noah Eaton

In theory, its fate was sealed when its similar-sounding counterpart, "Float On", only peaked at #29. Shame. :(
