Just came up with a couple chart facts I wanted to share.
Watching JoJo climb the charts, I realized that if she really is 13, that would make her the first charting artist who was born in the 90s, wouldn't it?
And up until now we haven't seen a straight remake of a top 40 hit from the 90s. We've had Baz Luhrmann's "Everybody's Free (To Wear Sunscreen)" which added spoken word to a partial remake of Rozalla's "Everybody's Free (To Feel Good)". Then we also had one of the two mixes of Blaque's "I Do" and Mario's "Just A Friend 2002", which both built R&B songs around the hooks of rap hits (Father MC's "I'll Do 4 U" and Biz Markie's "Just A Friend"). And then there have been quite a few songs that were remakes of songs from the 90s that didn't hit the top 40 originally, like "I Swear" and "Torn" among many others. But now we have Jessica Simpson's "Angels", a remake of a Robbie Williams song that didn't get a great deal of attention in the US but made it to #25 on the pop chart. And since Robbie's hit carried over into 2000, that means we have the first top 40 remake of an 00s top 40 hit as well.

Jordy was born in 1988 (he was 5 when he hit the Hot 100)... also, his song never came close to hitting R&R's CHR chart.

I remember that kid He performed that song of his during the World Music Awards that one year, but I don't remember the song. I'd probably have to find the clip of it. It was too cute :)
