Hi. I don't normally venture out of the rock forum, but I'm desperate and I've scoured the internet for an answer. I've been hearing a lot of Xmas music at work and there's this one song that's kind of a gospely kind of tune that's really dramatic that uses "jingle jingle jingle all the way" as the chorus, although I don't recall hearing about the sleigh. I'm always not paying attention when it plays and I'd really like to know what it is but I don't have anything else to go on. It's not sung like a typical Jingle Bells cover, and yet that's all I've been able to find. Please, if someone can help me, I'd be most grateful.

Alright, screw you guys, I might as well take this to the rock forum where somebody might at least give me the decency of a comment (except for you, XXIX, you get a cookie).

If someone knew they would probably help you I guess so. I don't know, usually threads like these get responses right away. I just figured no one here cared. But I could be wrong, and I apologize for my harsh comments. But I really want an answer to this. I've done so much searching and turned up empty. The truth must be out there!

More information about what you know about the song would be helpful

When I search on "Jingle Jingle Jingle all the way" up comes Natalie Cole - Jingle Bells

DK about the "gospelly" part, but Joni Mitchell's song "River," which has been recorded by Linda Ronstadt, Heart, etc., and now Sarah McLachlan, starts out and ends with the piano playing the melody to the chorus of "Jingle Bells."
The song lyrics start out, "It's comin' on Christmas, they're cuttin' down trees ..." and the hook line of the song is "I wish I had a river I could skate away on."
That's the only song that comes to mind that incorporates Jingle Bells.

I just checked both artists and neither of those are a match. Natalie's version is jazzy and this song I heard was absolutely not a jazz song. Sarah was actually a better guess but it's not that song and it's not her either anyway because it's not her voice.

I finally heard it again tonight and I caught another line: "ride with me in that open sleigh". That modified line was enough to shatter all the countless versions of Jingle Bells that Google turned up in order to provide me with the answer that I sought. I now know who made the version that I keep hearing all the time.
The winner?
Shedaisy.

Now that that's been figured out, I have a question. I keep hearing some Christmas song on WLIT and I think it's called "All I Want For Christmas Is You". Now, it's not the Mariah Carey song. This song is very slow; in fact it sounds much like "Break It To Me Gently" by Juice Newton. I don't think it's her, though. Anyone know what it is?

Yes, that is indeed it. The funny thing is, after I was done reading your post, I turned on the radio and, believe it or not, that song was just ending! And the radio DJ announced the title and artist. She added that a lady named Lisa Layne did the vocals on the song.
