This is from her new album "Comfort Woman" that came out in October. It's a fan favorite and her fans are basically up in arms that Maverick is not releasing this song. It's my favorite from the album as well. Whether you are a fan of R&B or rock, I think you should really take a listen to this track. It's possibly the best piece of work I heard in 2003. I made a sound file for you guys. I really feel terrible that Maverick is doing nothing to promote this album. It's such an incredible piece of work from one of the most brilliant artists out there. So the least I can do is be a fan and promote her. Opens with RealOne: www.geocities.com/musik72788/meshelllovesong3.rmI lowered the sound quality so that it would fit the web space. If you would like a regular copy you can hit me up on AIM, and if you REALLY like it, buy the album. You won't regret it.

I have actually read reviews that this is her weakest effort yet. I will not judge until I can make my own informed decision. I really didn't enjoy much of her music lately. Although I loved her debut cd. "If That's Your Girlfriend (She Wasn't Last Night) is still one of my favorite songs of the 90's

I'm listening to it right now. I liked the clips on VH1.com, but I always felt left in the cold whenever the clips ended. Her music seems like it can only be enjoyable in full (sort of like Vienna Teng's songs! :))
About the negative reviews...maybe some of her fans are upset that she's recording less controversial music or something. Isn't this album all about love? That's the impression I got from the clips, and especially the inclusion of the 3 love songs.

Yes, the album is about love, but like the reviews said, when Me'shell does a love album, it's not like a Mariah Carey love album.

The only problems reviewers had was that she didn't leave the topic of love.

I listened, and I liked it. It's really slow and laid-back. I'll have to hear some more before I invest in the album.

It's not working for me so I will have to get it later. I am actually very interested now. I think I am actually going to break down and buy the cd. Why would Maverick release a record that they are not even going to release a single from. How are more people going to be able to experience her music. I bet I could ask alot of people around here and they won't know who she is and if they did it is only from "Wild Nights". It seems futile for Maverick to have artist they don't want to promote.

When a label doesn't release a single from an album, it's because they don't have high expectations anyway and that the album will sell what they expect based on the fanbase alone. Me'shell has never really had a big single and listening to this album, it's pretty obvious that she's not getting a pop hit or anything out of it.

That is why there are many different formats. If this song is as good as you say it is why not release it to Urban or Urban AC (maybe I dunno haven't heard it yet)

That's how I feel after hearing all the clips and this song in full length. I've never heard her earlier songs though. I just remember video clips on BET during her interview with that one guy around a year ago.

All right so I broke down and bought the cd and I am currently listening to "Love Song #3" for the first time. So far I am actually pretty impressed although I could've done without "Love Song #1". This is a really good song. There is no reason why Maverick should not release this to atleast Urban / Urban AC

Yes well I have heard some good things about Me'shell's music but never went as far as actually buying one of her cd's and I must admit I am very very impressed. At first I didn't like "Love Song #1" but now I think it is a very good song the only one I can not handle is "Thankful". I find that track rather boring. Stand out tracks for me where "Come Smoke My Herb" , "Love Song #3" and "Liliquoi Moon"
