This should've been a single. They really ruined Kylie's album here in the states. They should've released RBW first. It is such a great song I can't believe it didn't even make a dent in the chart. I believe if they would've released RBW first it would've done a heck of alot better. Than they could've relesed "Promises" as a second single. I'm sure of the fact that both songs would've blown up

"Promises," "Red Blooded Woman," and "After Dark" were the only songs I liked on that album.
I agree that they totally killed her here by releasing "Slow" which was destined to flop despite it's international success.

"Promises" was boring.
Even though "Slow" hit #1 in Australia... I'd still consider it a flop of sorts. It only got to #1 because it was the lead single from a new Kylie album coming off her most successful album ever. It fell off the charts fast and it kinda ruined the album. If they had gone with RBW as the first single everywhere, I think her album would've done better, even if it wasn't a great album as a whole.
Her "Ultimate Kylie" greatest hits CD is absolutely amazing though.

"Promises" is a really fun track, but it would have flopped in the US, just like everything else on the album. She just doesn't seem committed enough to sustain any longterm success here.

There is no way in hell that RBW deserved to flop. It should've been the lead off single. I dont see how it could've missed. "Slow" really turned off the US market on her :( . "Promises" would've done well too. Better than LAFS

I personally thought that "Sweet Music" could've been a good 1st single for the US.

Red Blooded Woman sounds like a cross between Justin's Cry Me A River and Olivia's Bizounce to me. I think it would've done REALLY well if it was the lead off single. Well, maybe not a huge success, but much better than Slow (which wasn't bad - just too Euro for the States).
Onto Promises - what a great track. I really like this song and it would've made a great single in the States. I think Body Language flopped for more reasons than one, though. You can't really pin it all on Slow because even with Fever, I thought it was a fluke and a stroke of luck releasing the right kind of different dance song at the best possible time (it's a very rare thing). She would've had to work REALLY hard (as if she was starting all over again) to push the BL album, despite any hits she could have scored. It would've needed lots and lots of support.
This wouldn't be the case if Fever made her an established artist in the US, but unfortunately it really didn't. She won a Grammy, but didn't really get elevated to a certain status.

i don't think that matters much. RBW was hot and would've been a smash if it were the lead single. And maybe she could've sold a few more copies. Especially if people got to hear how good "Body Language" actually is. She is too dance to pull off big numbers but double platinum could've been attained if the right strategy was used
