This is a cover of Steve Miller Band. Sounds like it should be interesting.

Wow, I don't believe it. A Fatboy Slim song that actually has lyrics and isn't the same three or four words repeated over and over and over and over and over again! :o

this is a great remake, I can see this being FS's first Top 10 hit. Won't last long on the charts, but it won't do bad. I see this having a similar run to Wiseguys, Start The Commotion.

I don't like this as much as the original, but it's pretty good.

Boy, is this formulaic and predictable! PS: Oh, and don't bother listening to any of the new Prodigy songs. You'll only be wasting your precious time! There are sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo many more interesting things going on with electronic/dance music right now.

I'd listen to the new Fatboy Slim or Prodigy cds for the fact that I love both, along with the more interesting.
But yeah, I didn't really see Fatboy Slim doing this.

I "peaked" ( ;)) at the new Prodigy album also because I love their old stuff. But I should've already known when "Baby's Got A Temper" came out two years ago. That song was a f*****g horrible throwback to their old stuff, without hooks or any inspiration at all. The album doesn't include that song (thank God for that, at least! ), but it doesn't get much better. It's not a bad thing to stick with your guns. But when you do it without presenting some kind of twist and inspiration to it, mine as well be quiet or work even harder.

FATBOY SLIM FEATURING BOOTSY COLLINS The Joker Producer(s): Fatboy Slim Writer(s): S. Miller, A. Ertegun, E. Curtis Publisher(s): various Genre: MODERN ROCK Label/Catalog Number: Astralwerks 18764/7087 (CD promo) Source: Billboard Magazine Originally Reviewed: August 14, 2004
There has been no shortage of classic songs covered by contemporary artists using modern production techniques. These remakes usually bring the clinical precision of computer-based recording to the song, and just as often the endearing attributes of the original are lost in the process. But Fatboy Slim's "The Joker" is a notable exception: How could it not be, with funk legend Bootsy Collins along for the ride? Collins takes a prominent role here, breezily injecting a laid-back groove and tongue-in-cheek vocal delivery to this Steve Miller Band hit. Here, the bass—not surprisingly—propels the track, while the mostly organic-sounding piano, rhythm guitar, percussion and backing vocals lend a realism lacking in so much modern production. "I'm gonna show you a good time, baby," Collins playfully promises. "Yeah, the joker's wild/I'm taking back my style/Yeah, get off my cloud, baby." It's unbridled fun, and one wonders why this wasn't released at the beginning of summer. "The Joker" is the first peek into Slim's new album, "Palookaville," due Oct. 5.—CW

The alt station here has played this a few times this week.
Surprisingly, it's pretty good, esp. since I haven't liked many of his previous songs.
