This week, Yellowcard's follow up to Ocean Avenue jumps 16 places from #47 to #31 on Alternative.
Can "Only One" have the same success as "Ocean Avenue" had on Pop?
33-22-11-8-8-8-4-4-3-3-5-5-7-7-9-11-14-19-18-18-22-25-28-33-38-40 off (on AT40/Ryan's Top 40)
Yes.
This song is better than Ocean Avenue, and Yellowcard was not meant to live the life of a one hit wonder.

This reminds me of "The Reason".

www.mtv.com/music/video/premiere/yellowcard/index.jhtmlThe video is premiering on MTV.com. I'm liking this. They are getting better with every single they put out. I think it'll fall just short of top 10. #12. Their live playing in the video reminds me of Story of the Year with the jumping off of unnecessarily high places lol.

this song is pretty good, I don't think it will do quite as well as Ocean Avenue...yeah it's a good song, but I don't know, I'm not just feeling a top ten hit with this one.

I just saw the video for this today...
I didnt pay that much attention but it's not bad, I know if I hear it more I will probably like it. The chorus is good.
I still like "Ocean Avenue" though...that's a good song

Yellowcard are a great band, and with the seemingly sudden acceptance of a token punk song here and there, "Only One" seems like it has a pretty good chance. Not to mention that the song is incredible and very easy to relate to. My prediction: #8.

Apparently this is the token "chick" song on their album (at least that's what I heard today). I can see it going top 20 at Pop.

Now that I've heard this song, I like it. It's much less bland than "The Reason." It does kind of sounds like it though. I also predict #4.

"Ocean Avenue" was much better. THe video was just plain cheezy.

I erased my previous post in this topic because I love this song now. And there's really no way this won't hit the top 10, if Ocean Avenue almost got there as a "sleeper" hit.

I'm going to play the skeptic, because I don't think radio will be as receptive to this. I see radio playing it as a follow-up to Ocean Avenue, and then once that wears off, down it goes.

"Only One" is a pretty good song. I think that this and "Ocean Avenue" are equal in greatness. Therefore, "Only One" should peak around where "Ocean Avenue" did.
My prediction: #11

I like this MUCH better than "Ocean Avenue," but still can't see it peaking higher. I predict around #15, although I woudn't be surprised if it ends up peaking in the 20's.

I didn't realize the song already went ofr adds 3 weeks ago. In that case, being at #49 with a bullet of only +150 isn't so good. Maybe #36 or so, unless it out of the blue starts picking up.

Maybe #36 or so, unless it out of the blue starts picking up. I think it will. It won't see huge gains, but I can see its bullet increasing to +300 or so and staying that way for a couple months. I predict it will peak at #12 sometime in December.

I hate this song. "Way Away" and "Ocean Avenue" are great, but the vocals in the chorus of this song drive me insane. It's sonic torture.
Overrated; I hope it flops.

I don't think this is as good as either of their first two singles. But I don't think it's horrible either. I guess it's mediocre. It'll probably do fine on the pop chart.
And the video is real cheesy. It's like, 'Aww, the two young lovers are being repressed." Besides, where were they protesting, Tianamen Square? What's with the tanks at the end of the video?

It's okay. Better than "Ocean Avenue", but still nothing great.

Great to hear it debuted at #40 on the Rick Dees Weekly Top 40.
