Hey guys!
I was wondering why many of don't like this track from Breakaway. I've seen lots of comments like "I love the CD but IHMFLY...". I never quite understood why, because I actually like it a lot, I think it's great, one of my favorites from the CD. BTW, my least favorites are Gone and You Found Me.
And you??

my least favorites are Gone and You Found Me. Yay, someone who feels the same way as I do! Those are the two tracks on the album I just flat-out do not like (I have a feeling Gone is this album's Just Missed The Train-most people I know seem to love it, and I just don't get it). As for I Hate Myself For Losing You, it is the textbook example of a quality album track. It's a very good song, Kelly sounds great on it, I know she'll kick all kinds of ass when she sings it on tour, but it's pretty much the only song on the album that would do absolutely nothing if released as a single.

I love this song! The hook is so catchy. My least favorite is "Addicted". I just don't get it. It sounds like a sing-songy, annoying, Evanescence wannabe. I think "Because Of You" is kind of boring too. I don't hate "Gone," but I was cringing when they were considering it for a single.
My Top 5 of Breakaway 1. Breakaway 2. Behind These Hazel Eyes 3. I Hate Myself For Losing You 4. You Found Me 5. Since U Been Gone

I like this song. It wouldn't do so well as a single though. that's for sure.

This song is good. Not a single, but it's good.
I love the third verse. She sounds so great there. :)

Same here. I like it though, which is proof of how good the CD is. Even the worse song is good. I love solid albums like this.

I LOVE this song so freaking much. It's definately in my top 5 from the album. I can't wait to hear her perform this on tour. I guess my least fave would be ..uh...Hear Me if I had to pick one..it's still pretty good

Eh. Their is parts of this song I like... but it is one of the weaker efforts on the album, imo. The lyrics are a mess. This and You Found Me are the only songs on the album I dislike... Gone is my favorite.

I love this song. There are so many potential singles on this album, but I don't think this would make the right from from this album. It would've made a great follow-up to Low. It reminds me of that "trying to be rocky" but more poppy production (unlike a lot of the other songs on the album), which is it's only downfall. It's definitely one of her best hooks, and I love the vocals. Can't wait to hear this live.

This is what keeps me from not disliking this song. I can just imagine her tearing into this in concert. I can't wait. This song isn't my favortie nor is it my least favorite song on the album, it just is.

This is what Kelly had to say about the song in an updated biography that was on RCA's press assets site yesterday:
“That’s a song that’s really supposed to be about ‘the one guy that got away.’ I don’t actually have that ‘one guy that got away,’ but I did have one guy that kind of didn’t work, and you never know if something could have happened. That’s kind of what the song is about. It was really hard recording that song.”
“It was written for me by Kara, and I wasn’t really in that headspace right then; I hadn’t ‘lost’ someone right then. But, it was kind of like foreshadowing. I read something that Sting said in an interview, he talked about how the great thing about writing is that it is an emotional and therapeutic thing and you can get it out. But the bad thing is, you literally have to go back to that place and re-live it while you’re working on the song. It’s depressing. After doing that song I was depressed for a week! It was depressing recording that song. By the last line, I was crying. But it’s great for the record.”

I like this song along with "You Found Me." The songs that I usually skip are "Where is Your Heart" and "Beautiful Disaster." I find that funny because IMO WIYH and BD are the two most vocally impressive songs on the album, while IHMFLY and YFM are the two least impressive, I tend to skip both of them. They just dont do anything for me.
