The new chart is up: www.rick.com/top40chart.htmlHe is using the data from the R&R June 25th chart which he should have used 2 weeks ago on the July 4th weekend. There is a switch at #21 and 22, but the rest is the same.

Man, is he going to be THREE weeks behind now? That means he's using info that's a month old.

Did anyone notice that the "Weekly Top 40 Challenge" that aired in the first hour was not the same one that aired in the 4th hour? The second one was a repeat of a challenge from a few weeks ago.

I have a theory: Rick might have gone away for a long vacation and did several weeks worth of shows in advance. We had a crazy chart the weekend of 6/26, an "all request"countdown two weeks ago, and a midweek survey last week. Now he's using a very old chart that's only a few days later than last week's. He "predicted" that next week there would be a new number one, so we'll see if he catches up. FYI, the sure shot is Don't Go(Girls and Boys) by FeFe Dobson.

Tell you what, Rick was way, way behind on U93. They played the show from April 17 this morning! Actually, he said mid-April, which was my first clue that something was weird. Then I got to thinking, "Well, maybe he meant mid-July". But when they started playing "Hole In The Head" by the Sugababes, I was like, WTF? Usually when the station doesn't receive the new show on time, they run the one from the previous week, not one from three months before. But it was cool, sort of like a Rick Dees Flashback. I heard several songs that are already lost hits, like "Through The Wire" by Kanye West, among others.

I support the "long vacation" theory, since this same sort of thing seems to happen every year around this time.
For example, in 2002 he did 2 "specials" back to back.

At least one of those specials was somewhat meaningful (well, for Rick's specials nowadays, anyway). The first one was basically the current Pop chart rearranged, like usual. But the next week's show were songs from the past five summers (as well as a few from the summer of 2002). Then again, two rearranged chart "specials" back to back would be very tough to stomach and might cause listener burnout.

Does someone still happen to have this chart? The current chart on his website doesn't have "last week" positions and I'd like to see how fast the songs moved this week now that he's caught up.

How does Rick introduce Nickelback's newest song? Does he say "Feeling Way Too Darn Good"? Or does he say "Feeling Way Too Good"? Or, "Feeling Way Too (sound effect) Good"? What does he do?
Does he bleep out the "damn" in the song with a sound effect?
I'd listen myself, but Q102 Philadelphia has dumped Rick Dees to early Saturday mornings in favor of Ryan Seacrest.

He says "Feeling Way Too Good", but the song itself is not edited.

Rick said that I Like That was the highest debut of the week. That would make 2 debuts counting Our Lips Are Sealed. But, actually there were 8 more that were not on the last chart he played the previous week. Accidentally In Love "returned" to the countdown this week, but should not have been on there a few weeks ago. We also have My Happy Ending, Let's Get It Started, Slow Motion, Dude, On The Way Down, She Will Be Loved, and Slide Along Side. I count 9 debuts, and one "return".

Did Rick mention any chart movement? If so, did he refer to the chart that he should have used for last week's show (which would be the July 9, 2004 chart)?
Also, did he mention that "Accidentally In Love" returned to the chart?

I didn't pay strict attention to this, but I think the chart movement was based on his last week chart(6/25 R&R) for the most part. He did not mention chart movement at all for a lot of the songs. He said JoJo moved up 7 spaces over all these other songs. On one of the debuts which he did not acknowledge he said it had moved up one, I think. He also did not mention MediaBase this week.
