Hey I'm cartman2002,
First off, I'm a huge music chart nut since hearing Casey Kasem and American Top 40 for the first time since 1982.
I know this is a music board but I'm wondering if it possible to start a thread in this forum about news/sports/talk formats especially whenever a music station flips to all talk.
I understand you could vote against this idea but I thought this could spawn talk on this forum about this somewhat controversial format.

General Radio Topics is the right place to do this. Since not that many stations have flipped to all-talk recently, not to say they haven't at all, there hasn't been that much discussion. But it would be appropriate in this section to mention such changes/have discussions about it.

CBS Radio's "Free FM" format has some stations that used to play music inlcuding WFNY (formerly WXRK) New York City, WYSP Philadelphia (Talk/Active Rock), KZON Phoenix (Talk/Modern Rock), WHFS Baltimore (Talk/Alternative), and KSCF San Diego. WLNK Charlotte-Gastonia-Rock Hill, which is now owned by Lincoln Financial Media, changed from Hot AC to Talk/Hot AC. Clear Channel's WPGB Pittsburgh is a Talk station that used to play music. Cumulus's WNFN Nashville is a Sports station that used to be Urban.

I'm not sure there is enough interest in the Talk formats around here to dedicate an entire board to them. As you said, this is a music board, and that's what most people come here for.
However, it is definitely acceptable to talk about News/Sports/Talk shows in this forum. That's part of what "General Radio Topics" is for.
