Sticky, please...
It looks like Ashlee Simpson is going to claim the number one spot by the end of this week >:( She currently has a four-digit bullet and is less than a thousand spins away from the now-bulletless JoJo. And to think it could have been Christina Milian...ugh!
Alicia Keys got screwed out of a Top 10 entry this week thanks to Avril leapfrogging her, but that's probably not going to happen again this week with Switchfoot and Usher (Confessions, Part II) falling hard).
Wow, the bottom is certainly falling out of Burn! Last week it was in the Top 10, but Top 20 looks very doubtful this coming week. Guess the Usher overkill finally took its toll.
Alright, Finger Eleven is in the Top 20! But why the hell is Lil Flip soaring...I mean, it's not a bad song, just totally does not need to be where it is. And it looks like Linkin Park has another bona-fide hit on their hands with Breaking The Habit.
I'm pleasantly surprised by the Bowling For Soup track. Honestly, when I first heard about it I thought it'd be a huge piece of crap. But it's not bad at all and doing quite well. Could it outpeak Girl All The Bad Guys Want? I'd say it's quite possible.
Anyone got a recurrent schedule?

Oh cool, we're going back in time! (See topic title TheMusicMan) Hurray for Ashlee Simpson! This song is a great pop song and looks to claim the #1 spot for a while at least. I'm not sure how long it will take Avril or Maroon 5 to climb up and challenge Miss Simpson, but it could take a month or more. Ugh, that horrible Houston song is about to make top 20! >:( Just when I thought things were getting better on pop radio... But looking behind, Ryan Cabrera now has a (slightly) larger spin gain than Houston! Way to go Kelly Clarkson! I am somewhat surprised that this has taken off as it has, but it is such a great song and I hope this can eclipse the pathetic peak of "Low". Oh yes, and I finally heard that Toby Lightman song Saturday on one of my Hot AC stations. All I can say is PLEASE do not let this be a big hit!

Yep... looks like "Burn" will be going recurrent before "Yeah" (which will stay in the top 20 for another week if it keeps holding steady). Quick recurrent update for this week: Yellowcard and Mario Winans are both at 20 weeks and will go recurrent this week; "Burn" and "Yeah" will go recurrent once they fall below #20.

Ugh, that horrible Houston song is about to make top 20! >:( Be thankful that its bullet has shrunk dramatically over the past week! Burn is old enough to go recurrent? Honestly, I never heard it that much even at its peak. Well, Avril should be #8 this Sunday, and then #7 the next. After that, she has to bank on Kevin Lyttle losing his bullet. Or debuting on AT40. Or riding a flying pig to Never Never Land. Whichever's more likely. That's a pretty quick bullet loss for D12. They were at 3931 (+101) at the final update.

Did MHE surpass DTM's spin total peak yet? I am not sure, but I would be willing to bet yes right now.

Where did Sugarcult peak at? I never even noticed them being anywhere near the top 50. Looks like they're long gone now, though.

Where did Sugarcult peak at? #46. The song was certainly catchy enough to have gone higher at pop, though. :(

#46. The song was certainly catchy enough to have gone higher at pop, though. :( Z100 took a chance on a song that didn't succeed? :o That being said, they need to take a chance on Float On. How does Yeah have a bullet...Again?!? :o I'm surprised but Outrageous is doing really well without a video or pretty much any promotion. She's just getting play because she's Britney Spears. I really can't stand Pieces of Me. Top 10 was enough, but #1? No thanks. I like that the chart is wider in variety than in recent months. One song that I'm pulling for is Southside with Lloyd feat. Ashanti. I had never liked any of Ashanti's singles, but this song is growing on me and I hope it makes top 40. I really like Real Love, but I'm not sure about how that song's going to do. For whatever reason, that song took a dive on Z100's playlist. And it looks like 2 of my favorite singles of the entire year are going to be doing battle for position: Take Me Out and Broken. I hope both get to top 15 at least. Broken should win the add week this week, then again Monica is gaining rather quickly for someone who hadn't been getting play all that time. I like that song, too, so that wouldn't bug me all that much.

I like Pieces of Me more than "Get Out" or "Dip it low" but we're splitting hairs here; none of 'em deserve any kind of popularity.

Did MHE surpass DTM's spin total peak yet? "DTM"'s end-of-week spin peak was 4500. "MHE" is at 4805 right now, so it's safe to assume that its current spin total is greater than any daily total for "DTM".

D12 is loseing it's bullet Pieces Of Me #1, all most Yeah gaining spins again. If it out lives Burn and Confessions Part 2 that would be funny!- Then again no it wouldn't. Maybe they could all go recurrent one after the other!! Confessions Part 1, maybe that will be like JLOS last song was it Baby I Love You? I can't remember. I hope let's get it started can increase it's spins soon. Who is going to be the next number one? She Will Be Loved, maybe Nelly or maybe even My Happy Ending!!

Ashlee's album is showing great legs (for the three weeks it's been out) so I can see why the big bullet. Plus, for me at least, 'Pieces of Me' is one of those songs you can't get sick of.
I think Maroon 5 will be the next #1.

Anyone got a recurrent schedule? Not a lot of big action in recurrentland for the next few weeks. After 8/20, it's mostly a waiting game for all of those songs in the top 20. Recurrent on 8/20:Yellowcard, Mario Winans Recurrent on 8/27 and 9/3:none Recurrent on 9/10:Mis-Teeq (will probably fall off naturally first) Recurrent on 9/17:Los Lonely Boys Recurrent whenever they fall below #20 (weeks on as of 8/20):Usher "Yeah!" (30), Usher "Burn" (21), Switchfoot (32), Hoobastank (25), Christina Milian (18), JoJo (19)

So glad to see that the bullet for "Wrong" is back up. That's a great song which shouldn't at all be avoided at pop radio. I will feel extremely bad if the single is left undone.
Quite surprising to see Ashlee gaining over 1000 spins. That's great. Great timing for pop stations to put the track in power rotation now that she is sitting at #2. She will be getting her first #1 song at radio! Congrats to her. I still wonder however, if those PD/MD's are sneaking a peek at those Mediabase chart links. :)

Will this be the first time two siblings both had #1's in the same year? In order words, have Michael and Janet ever had #1's in the same year?

Yes, Michael and Janet both had #1s in 1991 -- Janet in January with "Love Will Never Do (Without You)" and Michael in December with "Black Or White." This will be the first year since '91 that such a feat has happened. As far as I can tell, the only other year (in R&R history) in which siblings in separate acts have scored #1s is 1978 (the Bee Gees and Andy Gibb). Such an occurance is rare.

How many weeks has "Pieces Of Me" been on the chart for? It seems like it's taking it forever to get to #1, just like "With You" and "This Love".
Does anyone have the week to week spins of "Pieces Of Me", "With You" and "This Love" for the sake of comparing? I would really appreciate it if you can post it, thanks.

I wonder what Nick though of Jessica's huge hits and million selling album compared to his two flops and album that was in the top 100 for one week.
Then how Jessica fells about Ashlee's #1 album and soon to be #1.(unless something really crazy happens)
It would have been funny if Jessica, Nick and Ashlee had #1s in the same year... or would it ???

I was thinking about how Nick felt about Jessica's success, but I realized that he had his "15 minutes" when he was in 98°, and Jessica hadn't had that success, but she's getting it now. Although, Nick was with three other guys, so I don't know if that counts. I really don't know how Jessica feels about Ashlee. On one account I bet she's happy for her younger sister, but I bet she's jealous because she got the #1 album first and Jessica's been out a lot longer than her, haha. Thanks, Ben

Definitely, on some level she probably feels entitled to it. I remember her on the radio last year whining, like "That reality-TV hack Clay Aiken got a Rolling Stone before I did! I've been around soooo much longer than he has!" She eventually got her cover, after she was on a sucessful *gasp* reality show. Then again, Ashlee is her sister, so I hope she's happy for her, especially since she's on her way to a #1 pop hit with her first single, and how long did it take Jessica?
How is the new Hilary Duff single doing? Her current successful tour is promoted by AEG Live, and I wanna see if going with Clear Channel's biggest competitor affects her airplay. However, she got a ton of adds, including Z100 and KIIS, so I guess they don't care. Usher went with AEG too, and it's obviously not harming him. (I guess they only do the airplay embargo for newer artists.)
ETA: That's true. Of course, she went with CC for the Onyx Hotel tour, so the In the Zone singles have mostly done very well on Pop. Strangely, they haven't seemed to have reduced her airplay much since she canceled the summer leg, which would have presumably made them lose money. But why do they only seem to do it for some acts and not others? At least for Usher, they could send somewhat of a message by dropping one of his songs. And "Our Lips Are Sealed" didn't do well enough that it would look wierd for them to ignore any sort of follow-up single.
