Is there anything special about this band? Has anybody bought their album? (I don't even know if it's out) Somewhere on TV I think an ad was saying so many incredible things about this band. I heard their song "One Thing" and was really not impressed at all. They sound to me like a 100 other bands I've heard in the last 4 years, not original at all. In fact, I can't stand the song. I have to change the radio station specially when the song gets to the part:
"Even though I know I don’t want to know Yeah I guess I know I just hate how it sounds"
I really hate how that sounds. I'm not kidding, I change the radio station every time this song is played. I'm giving my opinion. I'm not saying they're a good or bad band. I just don't like it and in my opinion they're nothing special. What about the rest of their songs?? Is marketing trying to inflate the real talent of this band? Would you recommend other songs I should hear?

If anything, this is the only song that has hit on any format....be it alternative or pop. My personal favorites from Finger Eleven are Stay in Shadow and Slow Chemical, a song mostly known for being an entrance theme for WWE superstar Kane.

If you like Rock music they aren't bad. I have the album and I like it pretty well, but One Thing is the only crossover type song on it.

History Lesson.
Finger Eleven are huge, and have been huge in canada for quite some time, sort of in the same way as Our Lady Peace, but on a smaller scale.
Finger Eleven have 3 albums, atleast to my knowledge, Tip, The Greyest Of Blue Skies, and their self titled cd with One Thing, Good Times, Stay In Shadow and Absent Elements (which the edge in toronto has been playing recently).
Finger Eleven hit alternative in the U.S. with Quicksand and Above from their album Tip and scored minor success.
The Greyest Of Blue Skies didn't do so well with its singles Drag You Down and First Time (their best song in my opinion and a damn good song period.)
And now you have the self titled cd, with One Thing, which has been out for a long long time before it hit CHR.

Yeah, It seems like I picked up that self-titled CD like a year ago or something, but maybe it hasn't been quite that long, I don't know.

I love "One Thing," but I heard their album is unimpressive.

The self titled album is a pile of wank compaired to The Greyest Of Blue Skies, which isn't all that great compaired to Tip, which is a pretty damn good cd all the way though.

I still can't believe it made the top 20 on the pop chart. It's so boring. It suits Hot AC better.

i sort of like the song. i am not really a fan of most of the songs of the adult top 40 format . i mostly prefer r&b styled music . this along with maroon 5 are about all i can take of current songs there.

I know I am a big fan of rhythmic-ish songs too. But this song is really good. I like "One Thing," a lot. I can see why it is doing pretty well. It's really catchy and it has a quality that makes you want to sing along.

You excluded the fact that they first started out as the Rainbow Butt Monkeys and released the song "Circles". A few years later, they changed their name to Finger Eleven and became a more serious band.

Plus, they're from Burlington, Ontario. Which is around 30 minutes from where I live.

Talk about another major dark horse success story!
"One Thing" looks destined to go Top 10 this Sunday, with a healthy bullet, Terror Squad a far enough distance away to avoid being a threat to surpass Finger Eleven, and Alicia Keyes and Jojo declining from the #10 and #11 positions respectively.
If Finger Eleven maintains their gains and Jojo's losses continue at a faster rate, they will earn their first Top Ten hit.
Of course, should Eminem debut in the Top Ten, that will keep them held back.
Sincerely, Noah Eaton
