I'm actually glad it underperformed. Now people will be starving for Christina. And when RCA puts out the first single from her next album, it will undoubtedly go straight to #1! *chuckles*

I don't care how Christina performs on charts. Chances are, she's in the top 3 of most talented celebrities on the entire top 40 chart, regardless of who's in with her. I know she's fabulous, and that's all that matters. Pop radio didn't want a fun track aboard the charts. Whatever. That's their deal. But you show me how many other artists started off as big as she did with "Car Wash". And "Car Wash" is still climbing up my chart. It's not over until I feel like it's over. So...look for about 15, 20 extra weeks, and then you can say "'Car Wash' is done." But I'm still playing it, and so are others, so until that time comes, just shut it up.

I think that the main reason (and don't kill me) TYHB flopped the way it did was because of how Nelly put his singles out. That combined with the fact that they shoul've had the video sooner after the VMA performance but whatever. And CW, well it was from a kids soundtrack. I didn't expect much from it, it actually exceeded my expectations because it was a kids movie, solundtrack, etc. Well, whatever!

TYHB was Nelly's flop not Xtina. And "Car Wash" was crap. This in no way resembles P!nk's situation

Plain and simple, Car Wash sucked!! Nothing could have saved it. And TYHB wasn't much better. Christina needs to focus on her OWN material and create a new album. When is she planning to release some new material?

Yes -- and let's not forget, Christina and "Car Wash" helped propel the movie to #1 at the box office! A song does not make a movie go #1. Because don't you think that the song also would be a hit? lol that song is crap

I didn't hate this song, but to claim it propelled the Shark Tale movie to #1 is a bit of a stretch, lmao

Yes -- and let's not forget, Christina and "Car Wash" helped propel the movie to #1 at the box office! Huh? The song helped in no way. It deserved to flop on radio and it did. The reason why the movie went #1 was because of all the advertising and because it looked so much like "Finding Nemo". That's all.

I still think that one of the reasons that TYHB flopped was because Nelly kept putting single after single out and they didn't put a video out quick enough. That might not be all of it, but I do think that those 2 were factors.

laughable. One local stations played it regularly for a while there, aided by that CD Preview syndicated show that played it every couple hours. I don't think the fact that it was from an animated movie means anything- remember how successful Disney's songs were in the 1990s? They haven't been doing well in recent times, but the track could have done well if it was interesting (the original wasn't from a kiddie movie, after all).
