Some considerations pre-holiday
Justin Timberlake FutureSex / LoveSounds 7.027.000 7.554.025 : good sales for 2° album, considering the general fall of sales this album had bigger success than already big seller debut.
could reach 9m in 1 year in the end and 10m in 5-6 years.
Red Hot Chili Peppers Stadium Arcadium 6.879.000 7.394.925 : good sales, By the way sold more (8/9m vs 7m) but was 2002..sales are bigger of +20% and in general S.A. had best longevity and positions on charts than By The Way.
Yes,far from the huge success (15m) and longevity of Californication or the huge US success of their best album BSSM.
Nelly Furtado Loose 6.812.000 7.322.900 After a semi-flop start this album grow (thanks to some singles) and become Nelly's bestseller.
This is a surprise after a "flop" like Folklore.
Also here as for Justin Timberlake a lot of credits go to Timbaland production.
with Rhcp will be the biggest selling album outside USA of the year

sometimes happen that a Musical have great sales.
This time is happen to a childish-teenager musical.

Incredible and in the same time obvious.
Beatles are always beatles and they made a huge sales also with a remix album.

The first real surprise..
Yes they are already a "big" band in Uk and with some hits (Run also in USA)
The album start good (expecially in UK) but not so well,then after the release of Chasing Cars (anthem pop rock ballad) the album start to increase the sales.
Really big in all the world (apart Japan and Italy).
Next Coldplay? maybe.

Flop.
Was difficult, impossible to repeat the exploit of Fallen that thanks to the longevity and to the huge US sales sold around 15m worldwide.
The new album start good with "Call Me.." hit single then radio and tv stop to promte them in good way and the sales fall really quickly.

The same of beatles, obvious.
An other Best Of album from U2 (that in last years released more collections than Studio albums) and an other big seller.
not huge but good sales...maybe if was the first "greatest hits" sold more.

Promiscuous and Maneater were successful as first singles, and thus gave the album successful starts in those countries. But, for the most part, those first singles were not successful second singles (wherever Maneater was released as the first single, Promiscuous became the second single, and vice versa).
After 21 weeks on the United World Chart, Loose fell off the chart for three weeks. It returned during the week before Christmas and has been on since, thanks to the third singles (Say It Right and All Good Things). Fortunately, the third singles had better longevity, so even when the fourth single underperformed (like AGT in the US), it was eclipsed by the still relevant third single (in this case, Say It Right).
I doubt Do It and In God's Hands will be even remotely success (compared to Promiscuous and Say It Right), but hopefully they'll keep the album in the top 20.

Maneater and Prem Girl were very big singles. I'm speaking WORLD WIDE as most people seem to forget Maneater was huge everywhere else. And Prem Girl was very successful outside of the US. As big as Maneater.

sometimes labels release some sales data, when i see it i compare that data with my estimations, usually the two data is really similar, but sometimes the difference is too big.
is the case of Nelly Furtado and Justin Timberlake:
Labels release an article where they said:
Justin Timberlake FutureSex / LoveSounds 6,6M
Nelly Furtado Loose 6,1M
in this case I should modify my estimations, sorry for NF and JT timberlake fans but i want to make my site more reliable possible.
so please don't ask something like "why Nelly Furtado was at almost 8m and now only 6" or something like that.Thanks!
In this case i will delete 700k at JT and 1m at NF.
for the future if you find an article from labels with big difference from my estimations (like more than 500k) please say it to me :wink:
