Winehouse's label confirmed to the Austrian paper "Journal" (December issue) that she has sold in the last 9 months (March-Nov) nearly 4m albums. About a half million before March and a half million in December brings her only to 5m, so 5.5m or 5.9m is too much exaggerated.

Amy data is for sure wrong because it sold 300k in UK only in 2006,at march.
was 650k in start of march and over 800k at the end of march..

About Buble it sold 224k only this week..so also if the label data was update at 7 days ago it was still at 3,5m

About Buble it sold 224k only this week..so also if the label data was update at 7 days ago it was still at 3,5m

Here is a scan of the article where it says that Back To Black sold almost 4m albums in a three-quarter year (March To November).

Conclusion:
0.8m copies sold before March release (worldwide release) + 3.9m (March-November) + 0.5m (December) = 5.2 MILLION albums sold!!!

Do you only add up the numbers while the album is in the top 40? Using the mediatraffic numbers?

If so, I am confused about the numbers for Back to Basics...I added them up and they came to like 2.9-3 million a bit earlier in the year, or did I miss something...

if you count only weeks in top40 christina is at 2.994.000 (27 wks)

The data without the 7,5% is quiet similar to my data, but with the 7,5% it's to exaggerated. Buble's sales will be about 4m after the Christmas week and I'm convinced that Amy will be at 5,5m after the Christmas week.

eh i know..the 7,5% more sometimes is a problem because more the sales will be big more the difference with the first data and the second data will be big..for example if the minimun data is 11m,the maximun could be also 12m..and this haven't so sense..
i should make a limit,something like "maximun 500k of difference", but i'm not already capable to do that in Excel

Oh ok, where do you get that information?

Because it seems uneven for some artists. For example Xtina being at 4 million plus dropping out under 3 million, and Gwen Stefani's The Sweet Escape being at 3.3 after dropping out at 3.2...it seems uneven?

the weeks outside top40 are estimations looking the weekly charts around the world, helped by some true sales (soundscan,uk,japan,france,australia etc..)

Gwen going out of top 40 at sales of 2.916.000 (30wks) and stayed a lot less weeks outside top40 than Christina and with a smaller average sales.
in easy words, when Christina album gone outside top40 in an ipotetic top100, stayed a lot of weeks around position 40-50, Gwen when gone oustide top 40 start to fall like 45 - 50 - 55 - 60 etc..

the singles did well, but the album not so much, plus it had the unlunky that start the weeks outside top40 in summertime so with general low sales, she had few weeks at around 30k that is summer isn't so bad.
