maybe Geffen has shipped 8 million copies to stores and whatnot that cannot be returned to the label, so they would make their money for sales of 8 million copies
just a thought...i could be wrong.

The shipped at most 7.5m copies worldwide, so I would say they rounded the figure up.

I doubt Loose sold much more than 7 million copies, but I definitely think 8 million copies were shipped worldwide.
