The funny thing was that he got married on June 15, and that same week he was featured as one of People Magazine's Hottest Bachelors, under their "Hollywood Stylish Bachelors" section. I guess either Bo or People Magazine failed to understand the meaning of the word "bachelor." I'm sure the magazine was written up the week before... so it's all good. ;)

Bice Eyeing Fall Release For Debut Album Fourth-season "American Idol" runner-up Bo Bice is anticipating a fall release for his 19 Recordings/RCA debut solo album. "We're still in the beginning stages," the 29-year-old Helena, Ala., native tells Billboard.com. "I've been doing some studio work and practicing with my band, Sugar Money, when I have a chance to go back home. We did a little bit of recording while I was there. Obviously I'm still plugging my cats there, and trying to get the band on the road with me." Although Bice says it's too soon to reveal everyone he'll be working with on the album, he notes that teaming with Bon Jovi's Richie Sambora on a cover of Ides Of March's "Vehicle" was "incredible," and that he has been in the studio with producers Desmond Child and Jamie Houston. "Vehicle" is the second track on Bice's current double A-sided single "Inside Your Heaven." As for a rumored collaboration with Carlos Santana that's supposedly already been recorded for Santana's upcoming album, Bice isn't ready to confirm that just yet. "If I got the opportunity, I would truly be stoked," he says. "I'd look forward to doing that. I can't speculate, though. Until things are in stone with me, I don't ever know what's going on." He is sure about what fans should expect from his debut album, though. "If you genuinely love every single song you put on an album and it flops, well, I would rather be that guy standing there going, 'Hey man, it flopped, but I loved it,'" he says. "I don't want to try to appeal to anybody. I want to get out there and play my music, and whoever goes out and buys my album buys my album. "[These days] musicians are putting out crap albums," he continues. "That's why our music society is being eaten up and overrun by Napster and everything else. When you only get two [good] songs on an album and I go out and spend 15 bucks to buy it, why not just buy a single that has an A-side and a B-side for five bucks? Why waste that extra $10? I'll go put that into a savings account. [But] that's why I'm the musician and not the guy who makes the financial decisions." Bice's recording of "Inside Your Heaven," written by Andreas Carlsson for "American Idol" and produced by Child, this week debuts at No. 1 on Billboard's Pop 100 chart and No. 2 on the Hot 100. The single is coupled with "Vehicle." Last week, "Idol" winner Carrie Underwood's version of "Inside Your Heaven," which is teamed with a cover of Martina McBride's "Independence Day," debuted at No. 1 on both the Hot 100 and the Pop 100. Her debut album is expected in the fall via Arista. Bice and Underwood will be on the road with the American Idols Live tour through the summer. As previously reported, the run opens July 12 in Sunrise, Fla. www.billboard.com/bb/daily/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1000972437

Bo Bice breaks foot onstage
The show will go on for Bo Bice despite the painful fact that he broke his foot onstage in Manchester, N.H. Sunday night.
"I'm sitting here with the doctor in emergency room number two," Bice told PEOPLE on Monday from a Cleveland hospital, following an 11-hour drive to Ohio for the continuation of the American Idols concert tour.
Did his treatment include painkillers? "I'm on a little bit of stuff, to ease pain of my foot," Bice admitted.
As far as (continuing) the tour is concerned," Bice went on to say, "there's nothing to worry about. There's no keeping me from the tour." He'll shoulder on with the help of an air cast and continued medical surveillance.
Sunday's slip occured because instead of his usual cowboy boots Bice had switched over to tennis shoes for the shows. "I run around the stage a lot," he explains, "and normally I wear the boots. Except three or four shows ago they started to slip."
Enter the tennis shoes and a new problem: "Tennis shoes rip," he said, after twisting his ankle and breaking his foot during the first song of his set. Aptly, the song he was singing at the pivotal moment was called "I Don't Wanna Be."
As for his upcoming debut album (to be produced by Desmond Child and Jamie Houston), Bice says his foot accident will cause "no unforseen delays. My days off are spent recording. Hopefully, this won't hurt it."
Concludes a lightly sedated Bice: "Life is good."

Bo is in the hospital in Las Vegas. He didn't perform at the Vegas show on Thursday. I was at the Los Angeles concert on Wednesday, and you never would have known that he was this sick. Bo had surgery last night. There hasn't been an official press release yet, but here's a little info:

From Cer at the official Fox Boards:

Just read this on Yahoo. I wonder if Mikailah will take his place and as a result the show will have the largest refund demand in history...?

Donny Acton is indeed his pastor. I live in Alabama and he was frequently on the morning shows talking about Bo during "Idol."
Also, the host of the local morning show talked to Bo on the phone last night - she said he sounded a little groggy but he said he was 'doing good"

Huntsville Times Thursday, September 29, 2005 Bo to perform hometown concertOn Oct. 15, 2005, Alabama ALIVE Magazine and New Hope Church will host a hometown relief concert at 7:30 p.m. to benefit victims of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita at the Verizon Wireless Music Center-Birmingham formerly Oak Mountain Amphitheatre. Bo Bice, SugarMoney and new recording artist David Graves will join forces with SAKS, Inc., Lowes Home Improvement and additional sponsors to raise money for Habitat for Humanity in an unprecedented effort to help the Gulf Coast rebuild one nail at a time. Ticket costs are $55 (lower section), $40 (center section) and $20 (upper section.) Additional donations will also be accepted. Currently living in Nashville, Bo has a family from Grand Isles (on the coast of Louisiana) living in his house in Helena (Alabama). "These people had to uproot their lives because of the hurricane," says Bice. "I want to help in the rebuilding of their lives and others." With the financial donations received from this concert, Habitat for Humanity will help rebuild the lives of families who have lost so much. This requires an unprecedented level of support says Chris Clarke, Senior Vice President of Communications, for Habitat for Humanity International. The organization is not a "relief" effort organization, but rather a "recovery" phase organization, providing long-term housing solutions for low-income families. In an effort to serve more families more quickly, Habitat for Humanity has launched Operation Home Delivery, which will allow parts of homes to be "pre-built" and then shipped into affected areas for faster setup once permanent rebuilding becomes possible. Bo will also be singing the National Anthem at the UAW-Ford 500 at the Talledega Superspeedway

MTV article on Bo Bice's upcoming album. www.mtv.com/news/articles/1510862/20051004/index.jhtml?headlines=trueBo Bice Working With Ben Moody, Members Of Nickelback, Bon Jovi, Skynyrd For LP 10.04.2005 8:43 PM EDT 'American Idol' runner-up's album tentatively set for November 29 release. Bo Bice Photo: RCA Judging by his collaborators, the "American Idol" "rocker" is going to keep rockin' post-show. Bo Bice has just started work on his debut solo album and he's already joined forces with former Evanescence guitarist Ben Moody, Nickelback singer Chad Kroeger, Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora, and producers Howard Benson (Hoobastank, Papa Roach), Marti Frederiksen (Def Leppard, Aerosmith) and John Shanks (Sheryl Crow, Santana). "It's a little bit of everything," the "Idol" runner-up said of his music so far. "People will see my mellow, acoustic side on a couple songs, then my crazy Stevie Ray Vaughan, Johnny Winter, jammy-type stuff, then really groovy '70s rock, revisited with a modern touch. And with some genuine lyrics about my life and things I see around me." Bo is recording in Nashville, where he is now living. Moody, Kroeger and Sambora have submitted songs for the album, including a Sambora/ Shanks tune called "Remember Me" that is among Bo's favorites. "More than anything, though, I'd like to do some co-writing with these cats," Bo said. That's exactly what Bo did recently with Rickey Medlocke, while the Lynyrd Skynyrd guitarist was in Nashville to perform on "ReAct Now: Music & Relief." "He didn't remember, but my band Purge in 1994 opened up for [Medlocke's band] Blackfoot and he was just the coolest guy," Bo said. "I've met some celebrities who were cool, but kinda fickle. It was the coolest thing to meet him a decade later and he's still the coolest, most humble cat. And I told him that and he said, 'We're about always treating people the way we want to be treated.' And I said, 'You just stole the line I use every day in my life.' " Along with all of the established writers and producers, Bo has also written a dozen songs with his band, Sugar Money, including two inspired by Hurricane Katrina, "We Can't Change This World" and "Changing for the Better" (see "Bo Bice Returning To 'Idol' Tour With Song Inspired By Katrina"). There's no telling, though, what will end up on the as-yet-untitled album, tentatively set for a November 29 release. "We have to pitch to the record company like everybody else," said Bo, who described his material as being about growth. "Put yourself in a pond and over time it's going to get stagnant and become a cesspool," he explained. "A river flows, it's ever-changing. You can make a curvy river straight over a million years. And it's not what's on top going down the river, it's those grooves in the bottom. But let's not be ponds. Let's keep growing." Bo, who missed much of the American Idols Live tour this summer due to illness (see "Bo Bice Has Emergency Surgery, Misses 'Idol' Tour Dates"), will take a break from recording this weekend to headline the 11th annual BayFest Music Festival in Mobile, Alabama. For more on Bo, check out the feature "Bo Bice: Live On The Sunset Strip," and for a backstage look at the Idols tour, see "On The Road Again With 'Idol.' Shouldn't he be releasing a single soon if his album is being released in November? All the other November releases are debuting singles in the next couples of weeks. Has anyone heard anything about an upcoming single?

Has anyone heard anything about an upcoming single? Remember, this is an AI alum's debut album. Since 19/RCA still don't know what the hell they're doing 4 seasons into this, Bo will be extremely lucky if his single goes for adds more than a week before the album's release date.

That's true, but I figured since Carrie already has a single ready for release and an add date (I believe), Bo would as well. But, truly there is no logic in 19/RCA's mind.

But, truly there is no logic in 19/RCA's mind. the common denominator might be Clive Davis...apparently he's taking little part in Carrie and mostly letting the country people deal with her, while he's having more of a hand in Bo's album. he was the executive producer of all the other Idol debuts with those issues.

www.al.com/entertainment/birminghamnews/index.ssf?/base/entertainment/1129281869143630.xml&coll=2&thispage=1Bice, SugarMoney book Pelham show for hurricane relief Band, crew won't get paid for concert Saturday night Friday, October 14, 2005 MARY COLURSO News staff writer Bo Bice says he was ready to shuck his music-star persona in September, grab a hammer and help victims of hurricanes Katrina and Rita rebuild their damaged homes. An 8-inch incision in his stomach stopped him. So did the advice of doctors, who warned that it was too soon for the singer to pick up debris, carry 2-by-4s or forget about the intestinal surgery he'd been through just a few weeks before. "But I've got to help. It's the way I was raised," Bice said. "If you've got, you give." That's why the "American Idol" runner-up is performing a benefit concert Saturday at the Verizon Wireless Music Center in Pelham. Proceeds from the 7:30 p.m. show will go to Habitat for Humanity's reconstruction and recovery programs. Tickets cost $20 to $55. Bice will appear with his band, SugarMoney, after an opening set by singer-songwriter David Graves. "We need to lift some spirits up, man," Bice, 29, said during a phone interview Thursday. "People also need to know this is an ongoing problem. It's not just something you give your $5 to and forget." During a break from a songwriting session in Nashville, Bice could be heard lightly playing a few notes on a keyboard as he discussed charity work - something he's determined to fit into his busy schedule. "There are things I'm passionate about," Bice said. "This is something I'm going to continue to do, whether I'm playing for a few people in a nightclub three years down the road or packing out stadiums." Although developing material for his debut album for RCA, due in late November, Bice has managed to slip in a few concerts on his days off, including an Oct. 8 set at Mobile's BayFest. That show featured two new band members - guitarist Kris Bell and keyboard player Thomas Lee - and served as a warm-up of sorts for Saturday's date, said SugarMoney bassist John Cooper. Folks who attend the Pelham benefit can expect to hear many of the same songs, Cooper said, including SugarMoney tunes such as "Cinnamon and Novocain," "Lonely Boy Blues," "Sinner in a Sin," "Ain't Got Money" and "Witness." Bice and his band also are likely to cover pop-rock hits such as "Vehicle" (his current single), "Whole Lotta Love," "Take the Money and Run," "American Woman," "Voodoo Child," "Sweet Home Alabama" and "Free Bird." In addition, Cooper said, the benefit is bound to feature . a tune . written by Bice about the hurricanes: "We Can't Change This World"

From Billboard.com www.billboard.com/bb/yahoo/search/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1001390524 Bo Bice Album Due In December By Jonathan Cohen, N.Y. "American Idol" runner-up Bo Bice will release his as-yet-untitled debut album Dec. 13 via RCA. Although the track list for the set is not finalized, tunes have been submitted by Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger, former Evanescence guitarist Ben Moody, Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora in collaboration with producer John Shanks, Desmond Child and Marty Frederiksen. It is unknown if Bice's debut single, "Inside Your Heaven," will re-appear on the album. The track debuted in July at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100, two weeks after "Idol" champ Carrie Underwood took the song to No. 1. Bice and his band have also been performing two songs inspired by the recent hurricanes, "We Can't Change This World" and "Changing for the Better," at their live shows, but it is unclear if they will make the cut. Clive Davis is serving as executive producer on the set, while additional production was turned in by Shanks, Moody, Frederiksen and Max Martin. As previously reported, Bice can be heard guesting on Carlos Santana's new album, "All That I Am," due Nov. 1 via Arista. (fixed link at the top of post)

There is a reporting error in the Billboard article.
"Changing For The Better" was not written about the recent hurricanes. "Changing for The Better" was performed by Bo Bice on the CBS Early Show and The Today Show back in June.
"We Cant Change The World" is a song inspired by the recent hurricanes.
