Thanks for the links - Remember Me is awful. Nothing Without You sounds like a generic Hot AC "rock" song, but the chorus is really catchy. The Real Thing might be alright without that horrid chorus. Did someone from Nickelback write this song? Because it reminds me of Photograph, a song I loathe.

Sorry I posted in the wrong area earlier (Carrie's thread). I just read that Bo's new website will be handled by Echomusic.com
Does anyone have any figures as to Bo's total sales so far of his single (maybe as opposed to Carrie's?), any information would be greatly appreciated. I know I asked about a month ago, but I'm curious as to recent totals. I know Bo is talented, but unless he gets a big promotion push from RCA and gets radio play, will he sell enough? I see Carrie is being promoted everywhere and I wonder what they have planned for Bo. It's already less than a month until his release date. Will the CD sell as much as the single?

My last single update was back in August with Carrie close to 400,000 and Bo close to 290,000.

This was in an article from The Calander in the LA Times www.calendarlive.com/music/pop/cl-et-americanidol15nov15,0,403703.story?coll=cl-home-top-blurb-right "It's a mainstream mass appeal rock-pop record with a little bit of a Southern twinge," he said. "Most 'Idol' records are pop records but they fall into their own niche of rock."
An RCA publicist said J Records founder Clive Davis personally chose every song on the long-haired Bice's "Real Deal" — something he has done for every "Idol" contestant's debut release. But the appearance of creativity by committee hasn't endeared Bice to rock snobs who have questioned his legitimacy on Internet blogs."" So after hearing those 3 clips and reading this I think its pretty safe to say that this record will be wattered down Bo. Clive getting the choice of songs over Bo worries me especially after hearing the stuff that made it onto the debuts of Kelly, Ruben, and Fantasia.

I'm not surprised. Rock radio would never touch Bo no matter what due to the show he was on, so his best shot for success would be Pop/Hot AC. He might also have some of his own material on it, just not released as singles.
I'd be shocked if he did better than Carrie. Like it was said, at this point (a month before album release), Carrie's first single was already known, and at least some of her release week schedule was in place. Bo might not get that much TV promotion. It's hard, b/c all the winners are at least guaranteed a platinum debut, but for anybody else success is very hit-or-miss. He'll probably do much better than Justin Guarini or Diana DeGarmo, but Clay Aiken will remain the most successful runner up, at least for now.

Thanks for the thoughts. I just want Bo to be successful enough with a pop style album that he can go on to do a second album that is more like his own style. I got the website info at this blog (very intelligent, witty Bo forum there also for Bo fans): bonafidebice.com/ (Not trying to plug the forum or anything, it's just such a refreshing change from the smiley face Bo fan site messageboards that are disorganized, lack content, and are filled with rambling posts about how sexy Bo is and the like). Can someone post a WMV or mp3 of the "Inside Your Heaven" performance from the Today Show... It's from like June I believe. Thanks! I just uploaded this copy I have here. Hope it works for you. It has some intro footage of Bo being interviewed.

Yikes, was he sick that day? He sounded like Kelly Clarkson at the VMAs trying to get that big note out.

That album cover 4 more clips from Bo's album have surfaced. I guess the first ones didn't test well. Anyways of the new tracks one of them has potential. "Lie, It's Alright" might get some radioplay. It's sounds a little Bon Jovi so I wouldn't be surprised if Ritchie Sambora was involved with this one.

Bo's new website is up. Well, the starter page at least. It's BoBice.com. He got his name back from Bob Ice. :)
Bo's appearance's according BoBice.com and RCARecords.com:
11/29/05 online MSN Chat
12/5/05 NBC Tonight Show w/ Jay Leno
12/6/05 Billboard Music Awards
12/8/05 Regis & Kelly
12/9/05 Today Show
12/9/05 Chris Isaac Show (I believe this is a concert appearance according to Chris Isaac's message board.)
12/11/05 Oxygen Holiday Custom Concert
12/12/05 Larry King
12/13/05 ALBUM RELEASE
12/13/05 Ellen
12/15/05 Fox Morning News
12/15/05 Tony Danza Show
12/16/05 Early Show
12/19/05 Radio Music Awards
12/30/05 CMT 1 hour special "In The Moment" featuring Bo
I believe his new single is "The Real Thing." But don't quote me on it because I'm getting the info from various message boards. Apparently a DJ in Alabama played it on the radio.

Good thing Gwen didn't release her "The Real Thing"
I don't know, if he can't get on rock radio I think this album will be a wreck, he just doesn't do good pop in my opinion, after IYH I don't think he did a great job on but on the other hand Vehicle was great. Who knows, I'm not too crazy about the clips that are posted, I hope he does well but he's being forced into something he's not.
And why is CMT having an In The Moment on him he's not a country artist?

I actually prefer his version of "Inside Your Heaven." But I didn't think it was a good song for either of them to sing. And I always liked "Vehicle." But I like the 7 songs that I've heard. So I'm looking forward to his album. Here's a picture from last week's issue of "OK Magazine." Same guitar that he used in Los Angeles at the Idol concert to play Hendrix's "Voodoo Child (Slight Return)."

Oxygen holiday concert? ??? Guess Mr. Bice isn't going for credibility. I know promotion is promotion, but how does singing Christmas songs on a cable network mostly watched by middle aged ladies sell a pop-rock album? He isn't doing any of the concerts for radioplay, I mean Jingle Balls either , as far as I've heard.

The TV promotion looks decent, but less than 3 weeks before the album drop and no sign of a formal single chosen except for one station. I know it's unrealistic to expect them to send the lead single of an American Idol debut to radio prior to a week of the album's release, but at least it's usually known. He couldn't go rock because rock radio wouldn't touch him; pop and Hot AC is his best bet, however that is.
I'm not sure how well this is going to do. I don't feel the buzz in general, and his devoted fanbase doesn't seem big enough to carry him without radio. I can't see his first week sales being all that big.

I don't feel the buzz in general, and his devoted fanbase doesn't seem big enough to carry him without radio. I can't see his first week sales being all that big. The fact that a single hasn't been released now 18 days away from the release of his album is very concerning. Rock radio more than likely wouldn't touch Bo with a ten foot pole, but they definitely have an opportunity to establish Bo as a solid Hot AC artist, like Rob Thomas, Goo Goo Dolls, etc. So far they're missing the boat by not releasing anything to date. His first promo apperance is Dec. 5th on Leno. We will know what the single is then but they're relying on 8 days to build buzz considerablr buzz for the album. "The Real Thing" is the rumoured first single. To me that song doesn't sound like the Bo we knew on AI. It sounds like CLive Davis picked out the song and said this will be your first single and album title and you have no say. Most of the clips I've heard sound like that. It seems the whole album was one big compromise and Bo only got Clive to agree to let him put his material on the dual-disc side of the album. To me the only clip I heard that has some hit potential is "Lie It's Alright." With the limited amount of time they are allowing for this album to build buzz I'm thinking it will do ~ 150-175K. If they do that they can count their lucky stars for messing up the buzz. I don't think that Bo will flop like previous runner-ups but I don't think he will sell as much as Carrie and I definitely don't think he will be a runner-up like Clay. Also there was an interview Bo did on Fox News last night, and across the bottom they flashed that Carrie only won American Idol by 134 votes. Somehow I doubt that was true considering the millions of votes that were cast and the difference there was between the two in single sales. Ruben still beat Clay by what was it 300,000 votes and Clay went onto crush Ruben in sales. So I doubt 134 vote was the difference.

Yeah, 134 votes was a mistake. If I remember correctly, the difference was 52%-48%

That's crazy. I know Clay has said that Clive basically gave him a list of 15 songs to record for 12 to make the album, and maybe gave him the oportunity to veto one or two that he absolutely HATED. I would've thought it wouldn't happen to Bo, since he's had more experience, is older and seems to know more of where he's going musically at the moment, but I guess not.
And I also don't believe the votes were that close. The AI2 finale was like 130,000 thousand with a spread of 50.5%-49.5% (geek fangirl here!), so i doubt it was that little in this finale.
And I agree; I definitely don't think he'll pull a Guarini or DeGarmo, but with all the initial hype about Bo immediately following the show, I thought RCA would do better by him somehow. Fantasia proved that Clive will put his money where his mouth is sometimes, and he was talking about Bo the same way like he was the second coming of (insert chosen genre here).

I just ran across this from Ben Moody. He's giving an update on himself and a few of the recent projects he's worked on. if anyone is wondering, #1 is about his working with Lindsay Lohan on 'Edge of Seventeen'.
