In San Diego, Oldies KOCL and Country XHCR switch formats. The Country station is now "US 95.7"
In Louisville, Radio One owns CHR-Rhythmic, Urban, and Urban Adult Contemporary. CHR-Rhythmic WBLO, which is being more than doubled by the Urban station and behind both CHR-Pop stations, changed to WEGK, and may change to Country challenging the dominant Number 1 with a 14.8. Clear Channel owns the Country station and owns a simulcast which changed from Country to Smooth Jazz last year.

I'm gonna keep an eye on the new country station in SD (the new calls are KUSS). They did snag the Tony and Kris morning show after KSON chose not to renew their contracts. 95.7 has a better signal than 99.3.

The Louisville Country Oldies station is doing worse than it was as CHR-Rhythmic.
The ratings started KUSS out as a new station rather than continuing from XHCR, so I don't know how KUSS's ratings compare to XHCR's last rating. KUSS is up 0.7 to the mid-1s this month and is tied with KPOP-AM for the lowest rated Clear Channel station in San Diego.

100000watts reports that KPOP 1360 in San Diego flips to liberal talk today, including Air America and Ed Schultz. New calls KLSD have reportedly been requested.

I'm leery about the KLSD calls. I know CC wants people to be addicted to it, but not this subliminal.

This is old news. Mon August 16: 100000watts reported KURS 1040 San Diego CA flips from talk to black gospel. I thought they went adult standards. |

On 12/1/04, XHMORE 98.9 in Tijuana, BN/San Diego flipped from Spanish CHR to Urban. |
