So, the question on everyone's mind this week: How high is Eminem's bullet gonna go? Right now it's at +1603 (#32). Can Destiny's Child keep its huge bullet as it climbs through the top 10?
In other news, Confessions Part II goes recurrent.

Major moves for Eminem, but I have a feeling that will cool down in the coming days. Probably some stations put him on every hour on the hour, similar to what happened to *N Sync's "Pop", which debuted at #26(?) and then had a gain of +2600 spins the next week. And then we all know what happened with that song... The big battle between Maroon 5 & Avril Lavigne continues to get interesting as now Maroon 5 is bulletless and Avril is just holding onto a bullet. With no other songs in the vicinity for the coming two weeks, Avril has time to sneak in a week at #1 before Ciara (PLEASE let me be wrong on this) or DC challenge for #1. The big gainers this week look to be Eminem, Britney, and DC, but the unreleased Nelly track with Tim McGraw is now showing up in the top 60 with a +300 bullet and may make a surprise top 50 debut this week, especially with Usher going recurrent. One big surprise in the top 50 right now is Gavin DeGraw! +250 bullet and over 800 spins! Come on top 40!

I don't think Avril will hit number one, unfortunately. Her bullet is tiny. And although Maroon 5 is bulletless, they're not falling very quickly.
Ciara's bullet is still strong *puke* This is definitely a candidate for worst song of the year. She has no voice (I can't even make out the words) and the beat irritates me.

Where can I find the links to mediabase? I thought there would be somewhere in this forum but I couldn't see them. Did I miss them?
Anyway the next couple of weeks will be very interesting. DC, Eminem, Britney, Gwen and others.

grrrr... Moron 5 need to die already. I'm uncertain on MHE's fate right now. It might end up number one by default, with even a negative bullet, but it might just miss the mark if SWBL doesn't gain in spin loss. We'll see. The reason I'm hopeful is that as of now, the nearest number 1 contender is Ciara , and she's still a good distance away from Avril and Maroon.

I'm hopeing Eminem can't beat LMB's debut at #23. Fly :'( I can't see LMB goign #1 it just has gained so many spins in a short bit of time. If it does go #1, and starts to lose it's bullet it will probally drop very fast. Nelly- just can't seem to get a strong hit right now. Car Wash ???- Maybe this is another Dirty/Beautiful. Goodies Another bad songs does great! Is It just me are there a few of songs that sound the same almost? "Float On" sounds almost like "Take Me Out" and "Freek-A-Leek" & "Goodies" & I think it's "I Like That" all sound the same.

Car Wash ???- Maybe this is another Dirty/Beautiful. Nah...it's probably another "Work It (Remix)". One superstar featuring another superstar, yet it bombs in the 20s. They ought to, what with one being Petey deleted and the other featuring him. ;)

Avril should take over Maroon 5 within a week or two. They're only about 300 spins apart and Maroon 5 is losing 200 less than Avril, and Avril surprisingly still has a bullet.

And the bullet raised to +111 just today! :) That's because for some reason, the Sunday night totals (from two days ago) are now up.

Was it during the much-hyped battle between AL and CA and AL topped bulletless with I'm With You?

Eminem didn't gain that much today (still + 2700).
DC are beginning to lose the bullet, only +1000 at #9.
Britney is also +1000 and that surprises me!

Wasn't Eminem's bullet at about +2600 yesterday? I find it surprising he gained so little today.

Great to see that stations are still spinning "Lean Back" well into September. For a moment there, I thought it was just a staple for the summer. But it looks like it is still gaining some momentum. Good for the Terror Squad for scoring a top 15 hit at pop radio this fall!

Good for the Terror Squad for scoring a top 15 hit at pop radio this fall! Ugh, why do you usually root for the bad songs! ;) I hope that this song fizzles out fast and doesn't reach top 10. It's bad enough with have Baddies in the top 10...

I'm suprised Finger Eleven hasn't been mentioned here yet.
The Eminem lead single spectacle truly is amazing and entertaining to watch, but so are the dark horse stories.
First we had Fuel, who overcame all odds in facing obscurity at Alternative and barely even denting the Hot AC Top 20 chart that powerfully. Even then, they found their way to Top 15 CHR/Pop stardom AND charted for over twenty weeks to go recurrent.
Next, we had Los Lonely Boys, who originally were just another Triple A artist who you may have heard the song "Heaven" once or twice but didn't even rmember the band's name. "Heaven" was originally released and would barely go Top 20 on AAA the first time around. Then, all a sudden, "Heaven" found quite a second wind as it exploded to just barely miss the Top 10 on CHR/Pop, while also going straight to #1 at AC, going #2 at Hot AC, and surpassing its initial run as a recurrent on Triple A radio.
Now, it is Finger Eleven.
Sure, "One Thing" had a healthy run at Alternative to begin with (it went Top 10) but it also wasn't exactly a mega-hit everyone was crowing about. It just kind of silently left the chart, went recurrent, and that was that. Was it?
Wrong. "One Thing" suddenly bloomed across multiple other formats weeks after vanishing from Alternative. It has peaked at #2 on Triple A, is looking to match that peak at Hot AC, and, it looks like it can very well find its place in Top Ten territory by this Sunday.
Huge debuts are one thing, but stories of surmounting all odds, doubts and achieving longevity, now that is something else.
Sincerely, Noah Eaton
