I just read an article and it pretty much confirms Chris recorded all the songs with studio musicians, even Slash came in and recorded with him. BUT......
The band was in fact choosen well after the songs were written and recorded. So, this is a huge disappointment for me. I hate manufactured rock bands. I mean it is just a fricking ROCK version of N'Sync if you ask me.

I stick by my assessment that we are looking at the new Scott Stapp. ;) I guess it depends on whether or not you like Creed if this is a positive or negative statement. The build up on this guy will be huge. But then again, a friend of my who follows music too thinks this guy won't be as successful as I do. She's heard the first single and thinks it's pretty generic.

I wasn't overly impressed with the single, it's catchy but...it wasn't as rock as I was expecting but then again he would not have had much of a chance on rock stations. I have heard the Creed comparisons...I don't know though...it sounds like they are trying to take a page from Nickleback.

I'm having computer issues and really can't listen to songs or I lock up my computer. My comparison to Creed was more about the appearance of Chris' "band" and himself. I am very curious to see the video. Will we see some some of those "rock" poses that Scott was famous for.

Chris will be the most successful contestent from Season 5 unless Paris can get her act together. Though the song is generic, it could potentially be a huge pop hit.

Chris Daughtry's RCA page. I liked Chris best of the guys on the show this year (although all my votes went to Kat), but this "band" thing is cracking me up. The names of the supposed band members do not even appear on the website, as far as I can see.

I think the first single will be a moderate pop hit as it is catchy (and yes pretty generic as well) but it will do absolutely NOTHING at the rock formats. As for the other 3 songs I heard streaming on his website, they are pretty much painful sounding pop-rock that is not even worth the Nickelback label. I was exited to hear his album after hearing the first track because I thought it might be a compromise and the album would have more of an edge but it is obvious now that no idol winner can ever be allowed to do anything that is not considered safe. He has a great voice so it's really too bad...

Daughtry IS one of the cheesiest rockers I've ever seen after Bo Bice and of course, the original cheese Nickelback. Still.. I like him much better than his fellow North Carolina idle, Pickles. so good luck!!!

Chris sent out a myspace bulletin and seriously, the guy needs a reality check. Two thousand? What happened to the guy saying he was used to selling out 22,000 seat stadiums? LOL. He's lucky it was a combination pep-rally and concert, otherwise he might have had just 200. LOL. Oh, yes, the album was all about the band. Except that the band didn't record in it and their pictures on the cover are all blurred so they're unidentifiable. But yes, the album is all about the band. Way to go. Insult all the other AIers with albums out. I'm sure that will get you lots of fans.

Yes well his ego is a little much at times. But those AOL samples helped him out on Amazon...I'm just wondering what's going on with his single...he said it's being sent out to rock radio first but they won't play it unless the stations are in NC. He has to go Pop or Hot AC. They haven't even gone for adds yet....

Chris just said they were releasing to Rock radio outlets first, not Pop or AC.
Will that be a good thing or bad thing?

Oh my GOD- he has BLURRED out the faces of the band members on the cover- that is so hysterical! He is the most pompous contestant EVER on American Idol- From his face dropping when they booted him off, to his mad ego press interview about how he was eliminated because everyone assumed he was going to win and just voted on those who they wanted in the final with HIM to naming his "band" Daughtry and now rubbing out their faces on the cover. It's like a skit on SNL- this is going to be SOOOOO SWEET when he bombs out with this album. I'm going to enjoy every single minute of it.

After all the pre-concert hype, I was expecting to read about a near-riot at the ticket office when the show sold out...glad to see that the campus is not in lock-down. Wonder if the ego has landed?

I think he will hardly get any play from rock. Bad decision. Perhaps they're just testing the water.

HDD says DAUGHTRY could reach the 200k mark. I wouldn't bet on that one.

200K really? I could see that if the guy had some promo. Are people really buying this fake band crap? I will buy Kat's and Taylor's, but Chris is officially off my list.

200K seems interesting but his single hasn't even picked up speed.

I hear his band has to get "BAND" tattooed across theirs. ;)

I dont get why they are predicting so much for the debut He may have a big debut because of the week it's getting released...it will be interesting to see if his single is strong enough to sustain it.

I dont get why they are predicting so much for the debut It's coming out Thanksgiving week, when sales of new releases and top albums almost double. I don't know if sales are going to meet those expectations, but I expect a huge drop the second week.
