So one wish of mine was fulfilled (the Brad-Carrie duet).... I guess it won't hurt to put another one out there. I wish that on a future Carrie album, Alison Krauss will produce. *fingers crossed, eyes shut tightly* I don't think this thread would be able to contain my SQUEEEEEEEEEEEE! if that were to happen. It would be glorious! tsharky, interesting news, thanks for sharing! I did figure that "Oh Love"'s only chance of being released as a single would be as 5th Gear's 2nd single -- otherwise, it would compete with the singles from Carrie's upcoming album, and I can't imagine Arista Nashville would want that to happen. It also makes sense because Arista Nashville probably sees this as Brad Paisley's ticket to the next level of stardom and sales -- there won't be any other new Carrie Underwood music to buy while this song is a single, after all. And this benefits Carrie because "Oh Love" will be a nice bridge to the lead single from her upcoming album, and she gets the privilege of singing with respected veteran Brad Paisley. In short, this is a great career development move for both Brad and Carrie, and I'm thrilled that two super-talented artists will be benefited in the process! Of course, it goes without saying that the duet itself would have to work artistically -- from the way their voices sound together, it seems that it does! I can't wait to hear this song in full!! excellent points-- since they are in the same label- clearly they will think of what is best for both brad and carrie before they release this duet. It has to be now, as you say, since her album would not start with a duet first as the lead single...Carrie will release a solo single as the lead off single from her album, likely around september since november is the album release date. So this duet would keep her on the radio all summer and help build anticipation for her new album too-- especially if it is on her album as well as brads. I cannot wait!

guys- I have some possible very good news about the brad/carrie duet! I called my dj today and asked if they could play the song-just for the heck of it- and he said they have it, but cannot play it until it is officially released to radio by the label...but- he said they already have a whole promotion/contest thing planned for the radio station in relation to this duet!!! He said he could not give out the release date of the song as they don't have it yet anyway- but that it is DEFINETLY being released as a single to radio-- and that all the radio and industry people are talking about it, because they love it! That is why the radio station already planned a whole special promotion/contest--- because he said it will be HUGE and people (insiders) are really psyched about it!!! He said it should sky rocket to the top- as he has heard the whole song- and he really loves it. He also jokingly said that brad and carrie are the best there is right now- and that they could sing 99 bottles of beer on the wall and radio would play it-- and it would be a top10 hit! This makes me want to SQUEEEE but my throat is too sore from all the Carrie squeee'ing these days! Seriously though, I'll give a SQUEEEEEE anyway. That is great news -- I love that this is going to be a single and everything this guy said. I'm really needing new Carrie music.

No word yet on what Carrie will be performing tomorrow? Even though 'Wasted' is my favourite song from 'Some Hearts', I really hope Carrie sings 'Before He Cheats'- if so, I think a Top 5-6 in HOT 100 and Top 5 on Mainstream/POP is within reach !!!! And while we're at it: a group performance with the winners/finalists or even better: a duet with Kelly Clarkson would be smashin' too

I have a feeling she'll be doing ISBY. While it's a fine song, I want her to showcase BHC to a massive audience.

I think she'll be doing ISBY too.
Since only the top 3 contestants are getting performances with pros, Gina will only be part of the top 6 girls' performance, and probably a group performance. No chance on pairing with just Carrie.

Somone over at CF mentioned she was pretty sure all her band members would be there with her. So I'm guessing it'll be BHC since ISBY doesn't require all the bandmembers since its acoustic.

As much as I love Carrie's version of ISBY, I kinda hope that's not what she's doing. I kinda prefer that to be a one-time thing to maintain its unique-to-the-charity-special quality and besides, she just "performed" it a month ago. Rumor has it (from a reliable CF member) that it's pretty sure that Carrie's whole band is flying out there. If so, there's a bigger chance of BHC being performed. If it was acoustic ISBY, she would only need 3 of them and not the whole gang. First, yay that the whole band will be there, if true. The AI band with just the most basic melody-and-beat-playing just doesn't cut it. Carrie's performances of "JTTW" and "Wasted" were good, but not as great as they could have been. Second, yay if it's BHC. If they allowed the turn-your-head-away-from-the-mic-"f**k's" from Maroon 5, plus I just remembered Carrie doing the "matress dancing" part of "Sin Wagon" during her Idol run, then surely (come on,AI!) BHC isn't a big deal. And she's keeping it mysterious too... www.countryweekly.com/carrie_underwood_american_idol/scoop/2378Carrie Returns to Idol Carrie Underwood will return to the TV show that jump-started her career, American Idol, Wednesday night, May 23, at 8 p.m. ET on FOX.
May 23, 2007 – Carrie will perform on the show, which marks the season finale, but has not announced her song selection. She is excited to return to the program that first made her famous. “As far as the finale goes, it’s so wonderful that they let me come back and let me be a part of what started my career and also be a part of someone else’s career,” she says. Carrie has no predictions on which of the final two contestants, Jordin Sparks or Blake Lewis, will become the new American Idol champion. “I can’t really pick one,” Carrie says. “It’s all up to America. I’ll be watching along with everybody else.”I wonder also if she'll be performing another number-- group or duet. Honestly though, as relatively long as this post has been, I'm just plain excited to see Carrie on my TV again... whatever she's doing and with whomever. It's being broadcast live here too in my part of the world, ET. I'll actually see it ahead of vinman! Hee! Just a few hours to go :) ETA: Ooops, I just saw that chez beat me to the band rumor :)

She very well could be doing BHC since I'm sure RCA wants to guarantee it goes top 10 on pop. That would be perfect since she hasn't done it yet on the Idol stage. Idol would probably prefer that she does ISBY, but "poo" on them. lol!

Carrie is being interviewed on TV Guide Channel right now- states she is performing, there are a lot of "awesome performers" tonight, predicted Blake and Jordin in the finals from the beginning, is not going to spill the beans on the celebrity guest singers tonight when asked who they were ! BTW: Carrie looks really tan and sexy, maybe could use a bit less makeup, but !

I am speechless. She just blew everyone else away. Now that is what an American Idol should sound like. Pure voice. Simple heartfelt perfection. I am just so proud of her tonight. :)

She sang "I'll Stand By You". Clive just presented her with a 6 times platinum award and gave an amazing introduction. She is really their "favorite child". Ha! It just keeps getting better and better.
