Yeah, I didn't know if it was true or where it was coming from because the people didn't post a source!

You guys are waaaaaaaaaay ahead of yourselves here...how come every other Idol who's been voted off doesn't have a thread? Let's just wait and see...when word and time gets closer, then start this up. You can love him, just don't start a "debut CD" thread when the show hasn't even crowned a winner! Silly rabbits...

how come every other Idol who's been voted off doesn't have a thread? Cuz they don't have Chris' star appeal!

To the Ace comparisons...
Ace didn't really have select style as an artist. Chris Daughtry did rock. Taylor Hicks did soul. Elliott Yamin did R&B. Ace tried to be versatile and it didn't work(ie: We Will Rock You).
Yeah I am a Chris Richardson fan, kill me. But Chris Richardson has a much more distinct style than Ace. He knows who he is as an artist and knows what type of songs he wants to record. Chris Sligh has already raved over Chris Richardson's song writing skills numerous times...claiming that the producers would have all of the contestants sing original stuff during their spare time.
This can only lead one to believe that they might have caught on to Chris' songwriting talent and gained interest in the kid.
I don't really care about what the haters have to say right now because I remember when Chris Daughtry's thread was started on here, everyone said he would be a wannabe Nickelback and would flop. We see where he is now.

We see where he is now. I just think it's way too soon to even be speculating. Is it possible for Richardson to make a decent album? With the right production, I'd say yes. Do we have enough information to say anything at all about that album? Not at all. It's way way way too early.

When did Chris Sligh say Chris Richardson was a good songwriter?

When did Chris Sligh say Chris Richardson was a good songwriter? I read something about it in a magazine recently. Chris Sligh is also lives right down the street so they have him on the news every week after AI on Fox. Also Phil has praised his skills and said we don't even hear the half of it.

Is this just speculation or is there an actual album on the horizon? This will be closed until there is official word so any further discussion can go in a related AI thread or maybe create a new thread of AI kicked off members.

Chris has worked with Timbaland pre-Idol so I'll see if they will work together again outside of Sebastian's album.

The only thing I'd seen before was the very end credits portion where the "white male"" is playing guitar and singing, but earlier in that clip he shows a real quick flash of what is obviously JT, so now I'm wondering.

^You can clearly tell it's Chris because during the credits about halfway through it says:
"Live performance by: Chris Rich"

I'd suggest that this topic be renamed to "Chris Richardson Discussion" since there's no album to be talked about yet, is there? Otherwise the title is misleading.

Yes, that def had to be Chris Richardson in the end, but the "white guy" he shows throughout the video is def JT.

Chris will definitely put out something (no pun intended) even if he does it himself - if not, he will be on Blake's album but he will also do something himself. Chris Sligh did say Chris was an amazing songwriter, in an exit interview or his blog, but then again, this is a guy who thought his arrangement of "Endless Love" was going to take the country by storm.
I think Chris already recorded a hip/hop album but not sure if it ever got out.

He should go by "Chris Rich" instead of "Chris Richardson"

He did. I explained it in the Idol thread. Can you explain it here too? Or link me to the post? LOL. He made one before he auditioned for Idol, and it is completely done (he wrote and produced it himself). However, the general public has yet to hear it, and likely never will.

According to Chris Sligh, it would seem that Chris Richardson may have a deal with a major label: "Obviously, the American Idol tour is going to be awesome, but right after that the 3 of us [Chris Richardson, Phil Stacey and Chris Sligh] will be heading off to studios somewhere to work on our debut major label records (or at least it looks at this point like all 3 of us will be on major labels). Anyway, all 3 of us are really, really looking forward to making great records - at least we hope we can make great records. I know for Rich and I, we love the studio as much or more than live situations...the studio can just be so much freaking fun." frommymindtoyoureyes.blogspot.com/2007/05/tonight-was-great.html
