Yeah. It's probably the closest thing to it, really. That was a great tune & also exhibited the perfect blend of girl group sensibilities and 90's British guitar pop. I wonder what Garbage will claim is the influence for this track here. I'm guessing they'll mention Phil Spector at least once.

I KNOW why don't we get the Tell Me Where It Hurts video?! That's very disappointing.
But otherwise? This set looks AMAZING. I will definitely be getting the limited edition with the remix disc. This is truly a treat for any Garbage fan.

I hope this doesn't mean they are bypassing the release/radio/video promotion of TMWIH here. I mean, even if it doesn't do much on the charts, they need to release SOMETHING to promote the GH album.

WOW. I can't believe they are going to promote TMWIH in North America! This disk isn't going to sell/promote itself, especially considering the fact that they've been out of the limelight for so long. The only possible thing I can think of is when they do TV/radio appearances to promote the album (they WILL do promo, right?), they will sing some of their classic hits instead...
At the very least they should have released the single to Canada...it would do quite well here.

IAOBTC is scheduled to be the 2nd single from the release with a Sept. 12th market date. A video has been shot.
Also, I have the 320kbps version of TMWIH. I'll pm it to anyone who wants it.

^Thank you! I am so with you on that. A lot of hardcore Garbage fans tend to overlook it. I notice their more casual fans appreciate their slow & melodic material more than their more avid fanbase (probably because those in the latter live for songs like "Push It" and "I Think I'm Paranoid"). IAOBTC was the undoubtable of BLM, a largely monochromatic fan-service project. (I mean I like it, but I wouldn't never pretend it's their best release or anything).

GARBAGE - BAD BOYFRIEND (2007 GARBAGE REMIX). Myspace/Webrip, so its 96kbps, but it sounds more like 160kbps+. Anyway, I like it better than the original. Those pants are quite scintillating. There is also a rumored "Sting Like A Bee" remix, which is (supposedly) a completely separate mix of this same song. We'll see.

Garbage Eyeing Mid-2008 To Start New AlbumGary Graff, Detroit In the wake of the new "Absolute Garbage" collection, the members of Garbage are eyeballing mid-2008 to begin making their fifth album. "We're talking about it," drummer Butch Vig tells Billboard.com, adding that he expects the group to group to head in a markedly different stylistic direction than on its four previous releases. "If we want to continue making records," Vig explains, "we don't necessarily want to repeat ourselves and do that electronica/rock/hip-hop beats/pop melodies with noise and guitars ... however you would describe us. I think we're interested in making something that's much more sort of primal and stripped down." Vig says a model might come from the benefit Garbage played for ailing drummer Wally Ingram in California earlier this year, when the quartet played acoustic with a string section. "It was great, and the crowd went nuts," Vig recalls. "It made us realize how fun it could be to do a record that way. More Neil Young 'Tonight's the Night' meets Leonard Cohen meets Mazzy Star -- druggy, bummer music. Not necessarily druggy, but melancholy and bittersweet. "Listening to our body of work, my favorite songs are stuff like that -- 'Milk' and 'Queer' and 'You Look So Fine' and 'Bleed Like Me,' the slow and sultry stuff," he continues. When Shirley (Manson) sings that way, I just fall in love with her voice. So I think we could make a completely different record than anything we've done before. It'll probably be commercial suicide, but the music business is so f*cked up now, maybe it'll be the most inaccessible record of our career and we'll have it be the biggest hit." Vig, however, expects "a long hiatus" for Garbage, with recording not starting until next summer, at least. He recently produced albums for Against Me! and the Subways and mixed the new Jimmy Eat World release. Manson is working on a solo album due in early 2008, and fellow members Duke Erikson and Steve Marker are working on their own projects in England and Colorado, respectively. "'Absolute Garbage' is the postscript to chapter one," Vig says. "Whatever we do next will definitely be chapter two."

So I'm guessing this isn't coming out this week after all...I didn't see it advertized in any of the circulars from Target, Best Buy, etc. and I'm SURE this would be considered a title to sale price right??

Everything on amazon says the CD and DVD will be released on the 24th, but I'm not sure we'll see it in the circulars next week anyways.
P.S. YAY for Cherry Lips!!!!!

The single is Top 30/Top 31 at midweeks. Kind of crap, but impressive given that sales are entirely driven by Garbage's powerful core fanbase. Will be one of their lowest overall peaks, though, which is embarassing. But few bands in Garbage's position could even hope to still rank in the upper half of the chart with zero promotion. It's a testament to the loyalty of the darklings - a loyalty few groups still enjoy (especially from the 90s era). The Pumpkins barely made Top 75, as I recall. I'm guessing the GH album can make Top 10 in the UK & Top 20 in the US. I don't know, really, and I'm not overly concerned about it. The album will sell itself over time. A TV performance wouldn't kill them, though.
