Christina is now in pre-production for her next album, which according to her, "will be a single album. We're going to keep it short and sweet". Style not yet defined, though it's clear that the album will be"completely different from this one [her last album]".

Hopefully she goes back to her old style, not BTB style.

And B2B was not HOT...it was full of duds. Releasing another B2B would be career suicide, as she probably already realized (hence the "short and sweet" comment).

While B2B didn't create many big hits, I'm glad she made the album. It helped her public image. And it garnered her attention for her talent, as opposed to her image which kept Stripped from being the classic that it should have been hailed as.
For the upcoming album, I'd like stuff in the vein of "Tell Me". I know she's only featured on the song, but if she had songs like that, it would kill. I'd like current R&B, funky, dance, Hip-Hop infused stuff on this one. Bang out some huge smashes!

Back to BOMBing wasn't that bad of an album, but Stripped was much better to me. And I'm glad she's gonna keep it short. I don't want to see 20+ songs on a album... again.

Yup thats what she said her next album was gonna be like.......i would like her to work with DJ premier again and maybe some other not so known hip hop/R&B producers....even something like Kanye West's "Stronger".....that would be cool if her sound was something like that...i Hope they do right by her this time around....imo they really seem to not want her to be seen as a R&B/Pop artist.....strictly POP..but we all know girl has alot of Soul in her voice...

The title made me think this was coming out August 9th. haha. Anyways, I want her to do some music like the music that's on Stripped. That album had so many different sounds on it though, it's hard to pick just one sound i'd like to hear on the next album. Incorperate em all, Chris!

if her record wasn't hot, then why is it over a 1million and half copies in this flop era of time?

There were reports of Christina recording with Polow Da Don earlier this year... That surely will be something hot. If it's anything in the vein of "Buttons" then she definitely has a hit on her hands. All she needs are some good hooks and she'll be fine. Her voice does the rest of the work most of the time.

Yea, regardless of whether it was a "flop" or not, BTB was a great album, and really didn't get the attention is deserved.

Jul 30, 10:15 PM EDT Aguilera Cancels 2 Shows in Australia
NEW YORK (AP) -- Christina Aguilera, who wraps up her world tour this week, has canceled two shows in Australia because she is ill with the flu.
Doctors confirmed the 26-year-old singer is suffering from a viral upper respiratory tract infection with a high fever and abnormal coughing, said concert promoter The Frontier Touring Company in a statement Monday released through Aguilera's spokeswoman.
Aguilera was put on bed rest for several days, forcing her to miss two shows in Melbourne on Saturday and Monday.
"Unfortunately, I have fallen ill with a bad flu virus," she said in a separate statement. "This is one of the best cities in the world to perform in and I am truly disappointed that I won't be able to share my show with you all."
Several people on her tour have also become ill in Australia, the promoter said.
Aguilera's final two concerts were set for Thursday and Friday in Auckland, New Zealand.

I think B2B did what it was supposed to. Obviously SDB or Understand could've made it last longer but her image was helped by it, she won a Grammy, she had 2 top 10 pop hits and had a mega-succesful tour. Christina is an artist that can flop and still be a huge name whereas other artists are more dependent on each radio hit. She won't have a problem getting off her feet with the next album even though Candyman flopped/B2B disappointed in sales, whereas someone like Pink or Kelly would (I love them both, not picking on them - just showing a contrast that I think is valid).

I think in a few years, Back To Basics will be remembered as one of Christina's boldest steps artistically rather than a commercial disappointment.

there was nothing aristic about b2b.....it wasn't critically acclaimed and xtina.....and a huge flop.....She should take notes from Amy Winehouse the next time she decides to another old school vibe album....

even though she doesnt need him? lol she definately does need someone! Looks like B2B wasnt her passion after all and she obviously doesnt love that music as much as she claimed to. It was all BS to appear to be innovative but it didnt work out for her. Looks like she will go back to the music she actually likes to make a la Stripped instead of back to her so-called basics because people much rather go back to black. Basically, she has an amazing voice, and is one of the most talented musical artists in years but seriously, she needs to find herself and start doing what she wants to do instead of what she thinks will make her seem different than what's out there.

When did she say Back To Basics would be the direction of the rest of her career? She only said she wanted to make one album in honor of those who inspired her - the fact that she's not making more doesn't mean she doesn't love that music as much as she said she did.
