I think Loose is 2006/2007's counterpart to Confessions on a Dance Floor, pretty big in the US, but HUGE worldwide. Lets hope she can reach 8 million like that album. I totally think she can at the rate she's still selling.

And let's not forgot, Say It Right is currently the second-most successful in the world this year, with 5,334,000 points this year alone. Fear not! The most successful song, The Sweet Escape, has 5,357,000 points. Say It Right has been doing better than The Sweet Escape recently. It should pass The Sweet Escape next week.
Beautiful Liar and Girlfriend are no longer threats, while Makes Me Wonder and Umbrella are. Hopefully, Say It Right will still be charting before they hit 6 million points (because by that point, Say It Right should be around 7.5 million for the year).

This article says that Loose has already sold over 7 million copies and that "Do It" is the next US-Single, "In God's Hand" the next UK single and "Te Busqué" the next German single!

^Well no surprise there. I hope Do It does well, but I really think they should release Showtime worldwide as the final single, if not Afraid.

^Will you please stop dissing on Nelly's downtempo's pls. . If you don't like them, try not to be rude for us who actually love that side of Nelly. It's not her "downtempo's" that I don't like. It's "All Good Things (Come to an End)" as a single and "In God's Hands." I really don't like religious songs (even if they're not that religious but they have that religious title) and the fact that she released them both as singles in certain parts of the world bothers me.

All Good Things Come To An End is really kind of off-tangent for a religious song title but In God's Hands has no religious bearing in the song, it's just the title. And some parts of the world love that side of Nelly.

what has believing or singing about god to do with religion. if a person believes in god, that doesn't mean automatically this person is religious...

Article I found in another forum: What happens if you sell out, but no one's buying? Portuguese-Canadian star Nelly Furtado found out the hard way Wednesday night when her first post-pop makeover tour drew an anemic crowd of about 3,000 to the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul. Not that Furtado can't sell records. Her third album, "Loose," topped 2 million in sales thanks to its terrific string of highly commercial radio hits that transformed the previously quirky singer-songwriter into a sleek club queen. Those hot singles apparently weren't convincing enough, though, to open many wallets, despite decent ticket prices of $30 and $40. In turn, Furtado delivered a likable - if only intermittently enjoyable - evening marred by numerous awkward moments and head-scratching artistic choices. Compare her to Gwen Stefani, who played the X last week, and it gets worse. Furtado may be a talented, smart musician - which is somewhat of a rarity on the pop charts - but Stefani wants to be famous, and she's not afraid to work for it. After Furtado's show, it was difficult to discern just what, if anything, she wants from this whole pop-music game. The first problem was the choice of venue. This would've been the ideal gig for the Myth, where the audience could freely mingle and dance, and not be tethered to a seat where they were forced to concentrate on the slow moments. Or even a theatre would've been more preferable, if only because the interpretive dance routines employed during songs like "Showtime" wouldn't have looked quite as silly.
And as great as the X can sound during a full- or even half-house show, all of those empty seats and dark corners of the arena ate up a lot of the sound and buzz generated from the stage. And then there was Furtado herself. More often than not, she came across as timid and reserved, and never really tried too hard to sell her new dance diva pose. "Promiscuous," "Maneater" and "All Good Things (Come to an End)" are fun and sexy on the radio, but Furtado's lifeless delivery made them feel more like a chore live and in person. She rarely seemed to be having fun during any of the upbeat numbers beyond a fizzy cover of Blondie's "Heart of Glass" and her bilingual football anthem "Forca," for which she donned a Minnesota Wild jersey. It was only during her ballads that Furtado really opened up, particularly on the aforementioned "Showtime," which she filled with a certain smoky elegance, and "Try," a single from her little-heard 2003 sophomore disc "Folklore." If Furtado's heart lies in torch songs, that's great. She's certainly got the voice for the genre. She just shouldn't try to fill a hockey arena while doing so

^That's not a good sign for her tour... I hope she does better. Nelly really is a great artist, all she needs is to push some more I guess.

tour drew an anemic crowd of about 3,000 to the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul. 2,044 fans where at the show, not 3,000. The venue was almost half empty.

^It's quite disheartening that's why. Well that's life, let's just focus on her being the best selling female artist of 2006 (releases).

I know what you mean, but that's also part of Nelly's Loose era. And I actually agree with the writer of the article, I dont think Nelly is very secure with her maneater image, specially live. :)

Ok,the LOOSE Nelly is different from the FOLKLORE Nelly, but the critic that she's uncomfortable in her new new style and stuff like that is getting OLD.She fits good in that image now... :)

Worldwide, Say It Right is now the #1 for 2007. Let's hope it holds until the end of December. :)
It moved 5-4 on the UWC in its 29th week on the chart. It previously peaked at #2.
