With the fact that Modest Mouse, Franz Ferdinand, and even The Killers crossing over the past few months, their is no question the some stations will start considering this an add to their station. No adds date has been announced, but since alternative is becoming more "in" at the format, it's likely this will go for adds with the success of "The Middle", and a minor success at POP with unreleased "Sweetness" which ended up at #41. While this song is darker, it is quite catchy and relatable to the audience.
Anyways, if this goes for adds at POP

I don't think this is all that CHR/Pop friendly.
This is a far more Alternative-sounding track, and it may dent the chart, but I don't see it getting anywhere close to the exposure of "The Middle".
My Prediction: #39
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

I don't even think this song is going to go to CHR/Pop. They're probably going to wait for "Work".

Releasing this to pop would be like releasing Bleed American as the first single from Bleed American/Jimmy Eat World/Whatever.
Those two songs are so similiar and yet wouldn't do a thing on pop.
On the other hand, Jimmy Eat World could have scored huge with Lucky Denver Mint off of their Clairty cd. Probably more pop friendly than The Middle. Think that hit around #30 on alternative.

As awesome a song this is, 'Pain' will not do well on POP. I think a #39 peak is way too optimistic cuz this is just do dark for POP. Float On, Take Me Out, and Somebody Told Me all had a catchy beat and a chorus that anyone could enjoy. I just do see preppy girls singing:
Nevermind these are horrid times. / Oh oh oh / I can't let it bother me.
Sorry. But I love this song and it WILL make #1 in Alternative if U2's bullet fades.

Well, it's "hurried times", but I agree this probably won't catch on at Pop.
