She has flopped hard. Where is her next single? And she needs alot of performances and promo to help her album out. I doubt if it's even still in the top200 album charts! Better yet it isnt I dont believe!!! how can u consider her a flop!? she came out of nowhere...totally unexpected and managed to make a top 50 hit! thats pretty successful to me...imo but yes i will agree with u that she should release something new....

It looks like "Hoodie" may be the 2nd single here.

ugh Sov is so wasted on this tour - just like M.I.A. why does Gwen keep getting superior artists to open for her? I hope she adds her own dates. Oh, and "Hoodie" is a bad choice for a second US single. She needs to release "Random", STAT.

It's a crime she didn't include "Ch-Ching" aka her most notorious grime display ever.

the promo machine misfired on this one she's still excellent...just because she's no longer on TRL doesn't mean she stopped making music (despite what popular theory suggests...)

NMELady Sovereign lays into Corinne Bailey RaeRapper adds fuel to Lily Allen's fireLady Sovereign has become the latest musician to have a rant against Corinne Bailey Rae, just weeks after Lily Allen turned on the singer. Speaking to The Daily Mirror's 3AM Girls today (February 20), Lady Sovereign admitted to cornering Corinne Bailey Rae backstage at a recording for T4, boasting "I told her she was boring and that she should be called Corinne "Boring" Rae." The insult was met coolly by the BRIT-nominated singer/songwriter, who failed to take the bait. " Corinne just said 'whatever' and turned on her heels like she was The Queen," Lady Sovereign complained. ===================================//================================================ W-w-w-w-wait! Don't post anything just yet. There's more!

CONTACTMUSICLADY SOV: LILY IS THE BIGGEST CHAV GOINGUp-and-coming grime hero Lady Sovereign has lashed out at fellow British star Lily Allen for being "the biggest chav going". While still making her name in the UK after early success in the US, Lady Sov has not pulled any punches when describing the Smile singer and her rise to fame. In an interview with the Observer Music Monthly magazine, the 21-year-old said: "I'm not hating on her but someone like Lily Allen, just 'cause her dad's famous, doesn't have to work as hard as someone like me. "You get some of the media hating people 'cause they're 'chavish' but she's the biggest chav going." The rising MC is signed to the DefJam label, famously winning a place on the label's roster after impressing legendary rapper Jay-Z with her freestyle. However, to date Lady Sov has been a low-key figure in the UK, although her latest media salvoes should catch the eye. As well as her rant at Brits loser Lily Allen, the Wembley tyro also had some choice words for Grammy-nominated singer Corinne Bailey Rae after meeting her while filming a segment for a television show. "I told her she was boring and that she should be called Corinne 'Boring' Rae," she told the Daily Mirror, adding the singer was "fake". "She's too nice. She sings about life being as sweet as roses but it's not. It's crap." Coincidentally, last week saw Lily Allen criticise Rae for exactly the same fault, labelling her "boring". =====================================//====================================== 1. Pop is the new hip-hop 2. Three way feuds will be the way to go with feuds. Don't believe me? Hold on...

Lily has already outsold Sov in only 3 weeks. Lily's nearly at 100k now. Sov is at like 50k. Why she isn't forcing "Random" down US radio's throat is beyond me. Maybe they already gave up? Hopefully, her spot on Stefani's tour will help her. I can tell you it is hands down the only reason I would attend one of those shows.

I was like wtf when I read she was going on tour with Gwen but after listening to her album I think it's a good idea and may work out decently. They both seem to be psycho bitches.

Two things must be said.
One: her album came, at least, one year late. Def Jam should have released it when the buzz was still strong and she had some friendly press. Plus, the hype on grime had already died by the time Public Warning got released in the US, and more so now that the album gets a WTF release timing in Europe. Two: I know it's easy saying this now. But really, I always thought she'd never be able to break in America. Her prospects in America have always been similar to a dead-end. If she tried to make her music closer to American standards, she'd just be another one. On the other hand, if she tried to sell her music in the most uncompromising of British street styles, she'd be met with just hipster acclaim, but no street buzz or radio support at all. That's just the truth right here.

She also put subpar material on the record in place of unmistakable gems ("Ch-Ching" being most notable). Even unreleased tracks like "Whispers" & "Sad Arse Strippa" (yes, really) should have made it over "Public Warning" and "Those Were The Days". This album should have come out over a year ago. Lily's is right on time (despite the usual UK-to-US crossover delay). Another artist whose time has come & gone is Uffie. There is no reason for her to release an album now. That being said, I will continue to support Teenage Peaches. (Her music is terrible, but she's a potty-mouthed 12 year old & oh so cute!)

Uffie is still on time. She released her first single not even a year ago, and the buzz is stronger every day. If the album comes out until the end of the year, she'll be fine.

Each track that gets released is worse than the last. "Dismissed" is getting a very negative reaction even amongst hardcore fans. She's flatlining.

That's what you get when you record tracks in-between almost non-stop club spots around everywhere with the whole Ed Banger posse on your back (including your DJ/producer boyfriend Mehdi). ;)

^It make me so sad! Touring is so grueling for young people. It's such a transitional time already. Poor Sov. She needs to go take the summer off, get some R&R, and then record some happening new tracks.

The most recent post before mine had nothing to do with any announcements, new singles, or chart information. I'd say that aside from you buying this album, this CD is dead unless she plans on releasing another single or something, and the thread has been dead for three months. Kthx.

LOL! All I said was that this thread should be moved to the older albums thread because it hasn't had much activity for a while, and it was brought up just to mention a potential purchase, not anything about a new video, new single, sales info, tour info, video info, or discussion about any of that. Nothing against you, quit taking it personally. You bumped a thread that has been dead for a while.
