All discussion here about Michael Jackson's New Album Era--Fall '07! OLD ARTICLE - June 28, 2006 mjtkop.com/home/modules/news/article.php?storyid=756 In what is the first of a sweeping restructuring of his personal and business affairs, Michael Jackson has severed ties with his long-time accounts and business managers, Bernstein, Fox, Wflopman, Goldman & Sloan, with Bahrani attorneys Qays Zu’bi and Grahame Nelson, and Gut Records executive, Guy Holmes. He has also established The Michael Jackson Company, Inc., with plans to phase out MJJ Productions. In other related matters, he has named Spokesperson Raymone K. Bain as General Manager, and has retained N.Y.-based L. Londell McMillan and The McMillan Firm, known for business restructurings and turnarounds, to oversee legal matters pertaining to his business affairs. Mr. Jackson has previously announced plans to record an album which he predicts will be released in '07. His recent Japan tour was the first in what will be a line of public appearances, and he is reviewing numerous offers to tour musically, which he plans to embark upon within the next several months. Mr. Jackson, who is currently in Ireland on personal business, plans on relocating to Europe in the near future. He is continuing to build his management team and other appointments will be forthcoming. Source: Raymone K. Bain, General Manager For Michael Jackson

flop. It will make 20 Y.O. - Canadian Life - Glitter - Just Wflopney all look like BLOCKBUSTERS. I don't know. His last album, "The Essential Michael Jackson" sold nearly 3 Million copies worldwide. It was the 4th consecutive Greatest H-I-T-S album, it had no promotion in the US and was released one month after the verdict. I think with good promotion, it could sell very well.

As long as he puts out a great records I don't care if he sells or not. Since he's working with Akon and Will.I.Am I hope he doesn't fuck it up.

Since he's working with Acorn and Will.I.Am I hope he doesn't flapjacks it up. well, he is rumored to be working with Teddy Riley who produced "Remember The Time" on the album "Dangerous" which sold 32 Million copies worldwide! Here is some of his new music: www.youtube.com/watch?v=znMwk3T9YQY and www.youtube.com/watch?v=bwlPGJ5-xTo Will.I.Am said this album will be an "Off The Wall" for today's generation!

It was 1992, Teddy was still a H-O-T producer. Maybe I don't remember well but TR produced "2000 Watts" on Invicible and it sucked balls. MJ had a chance at being commercially successful by working with the Neptunes for that same 2001 album but he declined, and Justin took the glory instead. As a matter of fact, Justified was H-O-T.

Honestly, I'd rather Michael write and produce by himself.

I didn't feel that Will.I.Am beat, but of course it's too early to say. I'm hoping for the best.

I didn't feel that Will.I.Am beat, but of course it's too early to say. I'm hoping for the best. Well, name some producers you would like to see MJ work with. I am in personal contact with Raymone K. Bain and I can e-mail suggestions to her! Michael Jackson and Will.I.Am have recorded at least eight new songs for the album. Will.I.Am says that this album will be different from anything released in music history and that it is best described as an Off The Wall for this generation. Some of the work in progress includes up-tempo, dance-floor ready tunes and "great melodies".

It will sound trite, but I would see Missy and the Neptunes for the rhythmic side, Ne-Yo and R. Kelly for the melodies. Someone he never worked with (except Kells), to see what they can bring to the table.
I'm probably biased by my own taste when it comes to Will.I.Am, but I don't think he's innovative at all.

OH, that reminds me...we just got a new article last week saying MJ is working on a song with Ne-Yo. Now here would be an amazing an unexpected collabo, Evanescence!

Mj is sooo not done. I'm looking forward to purchasing something worth listening to. Michael Jackson's career in the USA is done. I completely disagree. Please note that in November, Access Hollywood took a poll to ask if MJ could make a comeback, 91% said 'yes' and 9% said 'no.' Also, at this hour, 'Thriller' sits at #580 on Amazon.com and it has been like that for six months. It peaked at number one hundred and twenty-six. two weeks ago! And 'Number Ones,' is number one thousand five hundred and forty-one on Amazon. 'Number Ones' sold Ten Million worldwide, almost 2 Million in the US, remember...it was released the same week MJ was arrested. 'Invincible' sold 11.8 Million worldwide, 2.5 Million in the US with ONE single release! MJs career is FAR from over!

I'd like for him to have a comeback, but there's a difference between selling a Greatest Hits set (especially with hits like his) and all new material.

But take "The Essential Michael Jackson." Released one month after the verdict, it was the fourth consecutive Greatest H-I-T-S album and it sold 3 Million worldwide with no promo in the US, and little to no promo anywhere else Here are the only promos made: www.youtube.com/watch?v=yDqQxXXrT4s and www.youtube.com/watch?v=1hOsgvZa3UE

I don't think he'll fare that well in the US, but I'm sure he'll do well internationally. He has a huge following in many countries.

I don't doubt that there is still interest in it. 'Number Ones' was platinum November 2005 'Invincible' was double platinum but this was 5 years ago now. Good numbers even at the time but...a far cry from where he was. However, Essential h its did about one hundred thousand A charity single was recorded right after Katrina but never got released because there wasn't a label that wanted it. His public image is worse than any other former star that I can think of. His image, since the trial hasn't improved. Now I am only talking USA here. I am sure he will still be a big seller in Japan and other countries.

He could sell what Invincible did in the US, 2 Million--if he is promoted right! 2 million doesn't happen very often any more for anybody. A 2 million seller would place him among the 10 biggest or so in a given year. Even 2 million spread out over 2 years would place his album up among the top 30 or so. His "star power" in the USA isn't that high.
