They all looked pretty smokin -- especially Emma. Mel C and Victoria have aged extremely well. It's great to finally see Victoria with some meat on her bones.
The performance itself was very entertaining. Mel C, Emma, and Mel B brought tons of energy per usual. You could hear all three singing over the backing track, too. Geri seemed to command the stage more in their earlier days, but that could've just been all the make-up and huge tits that are no longer present.

It was so good to see them on stage again. The past 24 hours I've become re-obsessed with them, watching old interviews and performances. I miss 1997 lol. :'(

Mel B doesn't need the cash. She has her own reality TV show, is now a judge on a couple of shows here in Ozzie, will still be getting royalities from the SG and is doing her own fitness thing.

As much as I know it'd be a disaster if they ever recorded new music, part of me wishes they would.

I'm still on a high from the performance. It was so amazing. :'( I just wish they would have performed more.

Victoria looked like she didn't want to be there, but the others looked like they were having the time of their lives.

Some actual interaction between the five would have been nice, as would have more of "Wannabe," but was good to see them together.

Spice Girls Reunion Tour Being Planned: Show Will Go On With Or Without Victoria Beckham
It was inevitable, in the hours after the Spice Girls performed at the Closing Ceremony at the Olympic Games in London on Sunday night the ladies began to talk about doing a reunion tour, even if band mate Victoria Beckham is unable or unwilling to be a part of it, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting.
"Mel B is spearheading the crusade for the band to do a reunion tour as they had a total blast performing at the Closing Ceremony. Geri Halliwell, Mel C and Emma Bunton are all on board, but, of course, the lone holdout is Victoria," a source close to the band tells Radar. "Vicky says she just has way too much on her plate right now with her fashion label and so busy being a mother to four young children, and wife to David and it just doesn't seem like she wants any part of a reunion tour.

"Mel B thinks the perfect time to do a reunion tour would be around the time the Spice Girls musical premieres in London on December 16 and wouldn't need to be a full scale world tour that would last for months, rather they could perform in Los Angeles, New York City, Chicago, London and other big cities to promote the musical. The ladies are ready to perform with or without Posh Spice."
As previously reported, The Spice Girls were prepared to perform without Beckham at the Olympics Closing Ceremony, but when she learned that the band would perform without her she had a change of heart.

"Victoria obviously recognized that if she didn't join the band for the closing ceremony it would look really bad. Victoria is very grateful for the platform the band has given her, but she just likes to create distance from that time in her life because she wants to be taken seriously as a fashion designer. Ultimately though, the band came together and did a hell of a job in their performance. Victoria was gushing afterwards that she was so glad she had decided to do it," the insider previously said.
The Spice Girls wowed viewers of the Closing Ceremony and the ladies performed a medley of their 90's hits, and all looked fantastic in their outfits that represented their persona with the band. Beckham wore a revealing black gown that showed off her gorgeous gams, and Mel B wore a form fitting glitter bodysuit, which complimented her toned physique.

"Mel B is the mama bear and de facto leader of the Spice Girls and it's no secret that she and Vicky have had their differences over the years," the source says. "However, Mel has been extremely diplomatic and sincere when talking to Vicky about doing the reunion tour and is hopeful that she will relent and agree to do it. Mel B is very persuasive and always gets what she wants and she has appealed to the fact that Vicky now has a daughter. Mel told Vicky it's time to show little Harper what girl power is really all about!"
The Spice Girls split up in 2001 and did a worldwide reunion tour in 2007-2008. www.radaronline.com/exclusives/2012/08/spice-girls-reunion-tour-planned-victoria-beckhamPlease dear god let this happen.

Not here for any combinations other than the original five (or maybe minus Geri at a push).

Of course anything but all five of them will seem just wrong, but if Posh is noncommittal a cardboard cutout of her pouting will have more or less the same effect as the real thing.

They've done the huge reunion tour. Enough is enough. I'd be more interested in them doing 3-6 dates in the U.S., Europe, Australia, Asia, South America, and Africa.
What'd really be great, though, is another GOOD album. The last two songs sucked, the only great song on Forever was "Holler." I know they're old, I know it's a huge risk, but the Olympics introduced them to a new generation. Right now, we're pretty much living in 1997 radio-wise, minus the R&B. If they ditched Spike Stent for Max Martin, they could put out a really decent album...only one of them is 40, and it might not produce tons of hits, but it could be very successful with a big single. I was totally against them doing it before, but seeing them on stage at the Olympics felt different than the last reunion tour -- the actual spark and initial energy was actually there.

So what if they are closing on 40 years old... Jennifer Lopez is what 42? If the music is good they could get a hit. Hell they could release a new single only with the current market! I have to say I would rather have them tour again then record new music...

As far as their future plans, they're in a bit of an difficult position.
It's clear the four, bar Posh, would be full-time Spice Girls tomorrow if they could be. So there's a wisdom they could try and do a 'Take That' and operate most of the time as a four, and occasionally as a five. Unfortunately for the Spice Girls, Victoria Beckham is more famous than the other four combined, so whilst she may offer the least in terms of vocals, dancing etc. her presence would be the big draw. That combined with the fact that people generally need the full set to engage with something like this. The reason they still draw such reaction is because they're so rarely seen as a five piece - tours/albums with just the four would water down the spectacle/appeal I think.
I don't see why they can't do a few huge stadium gigs in the UK/US as a five-piece every now and again though. That seems to me the most likely future anyway.

I'd love a new album. They're smart, I trust them to make a decent record.
As far as touring, they're not major vocalists, so they do a lot of back-to-back dates. That's difficult for one artist, let alone five. Maybe a short stint in Vegas. Three shows a week for a few months. I think something stationary, like that, would be the best bet at getting them to reunite. Plus the vast majority of their fans are over 21 by now, so an adult-themed city like Vegas could provide a good opportunity for them to sell out like crazy.

This is deffinitly what they need to do!

I know I would still go to the show with/ without Posh. She's not that important in the group to me. She rarely sings in their songs LOL.

It wasn't until their olympic closing performance that I realized -how great they were as a group...there was no lead singer, they were equal which is amazing. -why they are the most successful female group of all time. It's amazing that they only had 2 big albums but still such an amazing impact. Brings me back to my elementary/junior high school days. :'( :'( :'(

As much as I have wanted them back... I feel these odd reunions and get togethers are amazing. 2008 was perfect timing for their reunion tour. THey came together, kicked ass and though they cut it short, they really did leave people wanting more. Their live act is amazing. The reunion was proof of this. The Olympics was further proof of this. But to do another album... no. Not neccessary. Let the two albums and hits live on (I know they had three albums) and let the legacy stay strong. You don't have to taint it with this ambiguous fourth album. Where would they fit in? No where.
Another tour? Mmmm their last was cut short. Rumor had it they had enough of eachother, their story was that they wanted their kids back in school and just had other comittments. So if they tour, let it be with the five, but... I agre with the above post that said they need to do a few select shows. The time is great, what with the olympics but new stuff? NO. Leave it be. Let us want more of you girls. Other boy bands of this time failed to capture out attention now as they continued past their expiration date. The girls had it so right. Tease us leave us wanting more.
