They've cancelled the rest of their tour.
This makes me think - what bitches! I saw them in London and they were fantastic. So it's really disappointing to hear that they've cancelled their commitments to tour in the rest of the world. They made such a big hype about their 'fans' picking their tour destinations and then they just ended up doing their tour focusing solely on the UK and North America (save for one show in Spain). They didn't need to cut these shows - they should've honoured their original word to their fans worldwide rather than keep adding shows in the UK and North America... guess they and their managers got greedy cos it's obviously cheaper to do it like that. Spice world??? It's shady...
Spice Girls cut short world tour
The Spice Girls are cutting short their reunion world tour, blaming "family and personal commitments".
The UK band said they would end their tour in Toronto on 26 February, with planned shows in Beijing, Sydney, Cape Town and Buenos Aires being axed.
The shows had been originally scheduled for January but were postponed after the London leg of the tour was extended and will not now be rescheduled.
Reports had suggested a lack of interest in some of the cities.
The Spice Girls tour kicked off in Vancouver on 2 December and has also taken them to cities in the US, Spain and Germany.
'Phenomenal demand'
A spokesman for the group said: "Sadly, the tour needs to come to an end by the end of February due to family and personal commitments for Emma, Geri, Mel B, Melanie C and Victoria.
"It was announced in June that, as well as the Europe and the US, the girls planned to visit Australia, China, South Africa and Argentina.
"Due to the phenomenal demand for tickets in the UK and the US, along with the touring logistics for such a massive production, it was not possible to fit everything in."
A statement from the group thanked fans for coming to the shows, saying: "It was all so mad the first time round, so we've really been able to appreciate it properly this time.
"There have been so many highlights and good times that we know it will be hard to be apart after Toronto.
"Really sorry if we didn't get to see you this time round. We all have other commitments in our lives now, but who knows what will happen next."
At the peak of their fame in the 1990s, the girl group sold 55 million albums and had nine UK number one hit singles.
They reformed last summer and the tour marked the first time all five had performed together since 1998.

www.billboard.com/bbcom/news/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1003711135Spice Girls Tour Likely Their Last Don't hold your breath waiting for the next Spice Girls reunion. Geri Halliwell, aka Ginger Spice, tells Billboard.com that she doesn't expect a sequel to the quintet's Return of the Spice Girls World Tour, which wraps up Feb. 26 in Toronto. "It probably won't happen ever again," says Halliwell, who left the group in May 1998 but was a chief proponent of the current reunion. "I'm still absolutely blown away that we did more than one show. So right now I'm thinking this is it. This is the last time you will ever get to see this Girl Power, the five Spices on the stage as one." That said, Halliwell isn't entirely shutting the door on the possibility of a bit more Spice if fans really, really want it. "What this reunion taught me is you can never say never," he says. "If you had asked me 10 years ago whether there'd ever be a Spice Girls reunion concert, I'd have gone, 'No f*cking way!'" Halliwell has nothing but good things to say about the tour, calling it "amazing ... an experience of a lifetime. I couldn't have asked for it to be better, actually." She also refutes reports that it's coming to an earlier-than-planned end because of infighting between the five Spices. "Actually it's gone on longer than planned," Halliwell claims, "because we thought we were only going to go to the end of January. After February everybody had commitments -- kids had to go back to school and that. So we had to leave places out that we would have loved to have gone to." Halliwell does have her own post-Spice plan in place. In May she'll roll out the first in a new children's book series featuring a character named Ugenia Lavender, who Halliwell describes as "a rebirth of girl power." She's demurring on details until the series is formally rolled out but says, "I love writing. It's my passion. It's something I feel was very complementary to my life as a mother, to become a writer." The next JK Rowling? "Oh," Halliwell says with a laugh, "I don't think she's shaking in her boots. "But I admire her very, very much."

I have to say that I saw them a week ago, and it was the most incredible show. Just something about being a part of music history was amazing.
It's almost indescribable; but, the entire crowd (an incredible 12,000 people!) had one mentality. It was a 2 hour party. The loudest thing I've ever experienced. 12,000 people singing EVERY word to EVERY song at the top of their lungs. The Spice Girls should be very proud of what they accomplished in their short musical career.

Spice Girls Say Final Farewell By Kristin Boehm People Magazine Originally posted Wednesday February 27, 2008 09:10 AM EST It's official! Using their song lyrics and blog, the Spice Girls bid a final farewell Wednesday to cap the conclusion of their successful reunion tour. "Our time is up ... we've come to the end of the road ... there are tears of both sadness and joy. Look how far we've come!," the group wrote on their Web site. "Yes, our reunion tour is proof that dreams do come true." The letter to fans on the Spice blog was signed with love from Emma [Bunton], Geri [Halliwell], Mel B [Brown], Melanie C [Chisolm] and Victoria [Beckham] after concluding a song best summed up their feelings: "Goodbye my friend, it's not the end ... So glad we made it, time will never ever change it ... " The Spice Girls, who last year reunited for the first time since 1998 and completed shows in Europe and the U.S., closed their tour with a show in Toronto Tuesday night. They were originally scheduled to go to Australia and South America, but family obligations and an already overextended timeline wouldn't allow for it. As for whether the Spice Girls are done for good or just taking another break, the ladies write, "We look to the future with hope and imagination and let Girl Power live on through all of you as it will continue in us and the future generations to come." Spice Girls' final concert in Toronto

As much as I anticipated it, how many times did I actually play the GH? Deux. I overdosed on them at age 13, and it's hard to tread that path again.

"Spice Up Your Life" should be performed at the Olympics. It would be amAHzing... "colors of the world. Every boy and every girl. People of the world."

I doubt they are going broke, or anywhere near it at the moment.
I want a new album.

Nobody is going broke.
Although I can imagine it will be nice for them that any time the want and can all agree, they can easily earn six figures each for a few days work. Talk about a safety net.

Mel B is always announces (or "hints") at things before the others, lol. But, for real, I'm fucking excited. I know it's unlikely but I would LOVE for them to tour again.

Doesn't sound as bad as I was expecting: Apparently these are the songs featured: Wannabe Say You'll Be There 2 Become 1 Mama Who Do You Think You Are Spice Up Your Life Stop Too Much Move Over Do It Denying Viva Forever Let Love Lead The Way Tell Me Why Time Goes By Headlines Look At Me I Turn To You Which means the only singles not included are "Goodbye" and "Holler". There are five songs from Spice, seven from Spiceworld, three from Forever ( :o ), one from Greatest Hits and two solo singles ( :o ).
