CBS Radio has changed the format of struggling WOCL Orlando possibly to Classic Rock according to Radio and Records.

Oh wow. This was the station I listened to most while living in Orlando for three years and I moved about eight months ago. I'm kind of surprised by this, but I know their ratings weren't doing very well compared to the similar WJRR which plays the harder side of Alternative and IMO should be a Active Rock station. Plus Orlando doesn't really have a true classic rock station except for maybe 98.9 which from what I remember played mostly just lite rock from any time period over the past forty years.
Personally I thought O-Rock wasn't a bad station since they did play a wide variety of rock sub-genres, but their top songs were mostly recurrents and golds that I'd cringe after hearing them every hour or so because they were so overplayed.

Why didn't CBS Radio make WOCL 105.9 Orlando a Jack FM station rather than Classic Rock?

All Access says WOCL may change to Country. Yeah, that's what I heard as well from people I still talk to in Orlando. I don't know how that would make much sense since they already have a country station K92 FM or something like that.

Plenty of places have multiple Country stations. WWKA does well in Orlando but is not dominant like many Country stations are.

Radio and Records reports that WOCL changed to Classic Hits calling themselves "Sunny 105.9 - Orlando's Greatest Hits" and the new format's first three artists played were KC & The Sunshine Band, Foreigner, and Prince.
