I've noticed too that many bullets have gone up or songs are losing less now. I can't wait until everything is back to normal.

Avril passed Kelly on Mainstream Hit :o.
Maybe after the break, Avril's bullet will go up to where Kelly's was before the break.

Great to see Avril up! I'm sad to see Kelly fall though. Both songs deserve Top 5 or #1.

Her bullet has been so weird during the break. I would love it if this song has a little bit of life left in it. Like one of those horror movie monsters that lurches back to life 3 or 4 times before finally dying. Maybe it can lurch its way into the top 10. :)

That was because that 25/-3 recurrent rule was in effect at the time, where any song that was bulletless and below #25 went recurrent. When did the new rule come in effect?

Would "Nobody's Home" really be gaining that much from year-end countdowns? It was released towards the end of the year and hasn't exactly shot up to be an enormous #1 hit thus far, so I can't imagine many stations having it on their 2004 contdowns. Love the song though, and hope it does even better

It's definately not on R&R's top 100 year end list, though My Happy Ending and Don't Tell Me are. But who knows where individual stations will net out. I didn't think the countdowns were really kicing in until today or do some stations start them early?

When did the new rule come in effect? Sometime in November of 2001. The 25/-3 rule only lasted about three months.

Ok, so what rule did they use before the 25/-3 rule? sorry for all the questions but I just wanna know. They used the 25/26 rule (below #25 and 26 or more weeks on the chart) until July 1998. Then the 20/20 rule (below #20 and 20 or more weeks on the chart) was started, which has been in effect since then, except for those three months in 2001 when there was the 25/-3 rule.

whats the difference between chr/pop and mainstream hit? which one is the better to use? CHR/Pop is the panel used by R&R for the official charts. Mainstream Hit includes a few extra stations, including MTV and a Sirius station.

Alot of bullets have increased! Looks like it won't be long till everything is back to normal! It's going to be another week or two before everything is completely normal again. Many stations will be airing year-end countdowns today or tommorow, which will begin to affect the airplay in the next few days. If you want to get a good idea of which songs are done and which songs have only "temporarily" lost their bullets, compare the current spin totals to those of the last official R&R chart. Only the songs that have lost spins since then are probably done. Here are the spin totals from the last R&R chart: 9255 Nelly f/ Tim McGraw- Over and Over 7483 Gavin Degraw- I Don't Want To Be 7191 Usher & Alicia Keys- My Boo 7185 Kelly Clarkson- Breakaway 5633 Snoop Dogg f/ Pharrell- Drop It Like It's Hot 5612 Destiny's Child- Lose My Breath 5433 Switchfoot- Dare You To Move 5142 Mario- Let Me Love You 4859 Jojo- Baby It's You 4571 Simple Plan- Welcome To My Life 4092 Ciara f/ Missy Elliott- 1, 2 Step 3953 Jesse McCartney- Beautiful Soul 3923 Eminem- Just Lose It 3888 Trick Daddy f/ Lil' Jon- Let's Go 3848 Maroon 5- She Will Be Loved 3840 Ryan Cabrera- True 3760 Seether f/ Amy Lee- Broken 3584 Avril Lavigne- Nobody's Home 3000 Ciara f/ Petey deleted- Goodies 2942 Kelly Clarkson- Since U Been Gone 2704 Destiny's Child- Soldier 2651 Eminem f/ Dr. Dre & 50 Cent- Encore 2486 Jay-Z & Linkin Park- Numb/Encore 2343 Chingy- Balla Baby 2299 John Mayer- Daughters 2254 Ja Rule f/ Ashanti & R. Kelly- Wonderful 2246 Yellowcard Only One 2161 Hoobastank- Disappear 2006 Bowling For Soup- 1985 1770 N.O.R.E. f/ Nina Sky- Oye Mi Canto 1756 Good Charlotte- I Just Wanna Live 1695 Maroon 5- Sunday Morning 1523 U2- Vertigo 1518 Lenny Kravitz- Lady 1434 Ashlee Simpson- La La 1370 Gwen Stefani f/ Eve- Rich Girl 1118 Lil' Jon f/ Usher & Ludacris- Lovers and Friends 1054 Terror Squad- Lean Back 1029 Killers- Somebody Told Me 992 Green Day- Boulevard of Broken Dreams 870 LL Cool J- Hush 853 Fabolous- Breathe 787 Alicia Keys- Karma 762 Eminem- Mocking Bird 761 Gwen Stefani- What Are You Waiting For? 745 Lindsay Lohan- Rumors 695 Ludacris- Get Back 685 Tyler Hilton- When It Comes 588 Velvet Revolver- Fall To Pieces 559 50 Cent- Disco Inferno

I'm sooo amazed by Breakaway! It has an audience of over 80 million now :o That's mainly because AC and hot are mostly done with playing Christmas songs. It's big on those formats, and they provide a decent audience. It's declining everywhere else, so audience likely won't increase any more in the new year.

I didn't think the countdowns were really kicing in until today or do some stations start them early? Yeah it was #59 on our local year end countdown. Ryan Cabrera's "True" was at #60 also. The list was really crap though, I think it was just thrown together with no thought...It might have to do with the change of MDs in the middle of the year.

The chart has finally been updated. Gotta love year end count downs. The jump chart is a riot. Shadow is back in the top 20.
