Today I was randomly listening to the Cher maxi "Strong Enough" and I realized Nic Mercy totally ripped off the MArc Andrews mix for "Something Happened on the way to heaven!" The first 5 seconds of the strong enough mix are exactly the same as SHOTWH!!!!!!!!!!!!! incidentally, back in 2003 nic mercy told me he had done a diff mix originally that got all the buzz so then deb's people had him do the mix everyone has, but the didn't accept it when the single was released! He said he was gonna send me the original mix, but never did of course!

I never noticed that until you mentioned it now. I just dug out my Cher maxi too. I knew it sounded familiar but I just couldn't put my finger on where I had heard it before. Maybe that's why it wasn't released.

did deb ever release "something happened..." on cd other than her remix cd? i know there was a vinyl that also had the ill-conceived "starting with u." i really wish there had been a single for "play your part;" i know there is a super rare promo single for it that ha the g&d radio edit that i would DIE to have(it went on ebay for over $100 a few months ago.)

The Valentin Radio Mix appeared on the Ultimate Deborah Cox CD. Junior's mix was on an issue of Promo Only Mainstream Club. I never liked that version.

You can also find the Valentin Radio Edit on the Robbins CD "Best Of Hits Vol. 1"
"Play Your Part" (Mike Rizzo's Leading Role Radio Mix) is also on the Ultimate Deborah Cox CD...

That was the only thing I felt was wrong with the Valentin mix. I wish that bridge was included.

i hate when people start taking things out of songs....same applies to the thunderpuss mix of "same script." when someone with the talent of deborah cox sings something, you shouldn't remove one note.
question: ok i remember reading that "house is not a home" was written by dee robert and then i was just looking at the tracklisting for nicole j mccloud's album, so what, on discogs and i noticed there is a track produced by dee called "house is not a home." is this the same song??????????? i wish i had access to the album, but i couldn't find it on perfectbeat to listen to a clip for confirmation. p.s. i LOVE "searchin" by nicole(the dezrok mix)

It was originally recorded by Nicole. I prefer Deborah's cover, but Nicole's version is pretty good too.
