eh, it just bugs me that almost EVERY female singer eventually succumbs to the need to show stomach, hip, breast, and the like. some people need to do it to sell records and be liked. Kelly doesn't, which is why it bugs me even more. She sold over 2 million albums WITHOUT showing so much. And I don't get why baring body parts is synonymous to growing up in the eyes of the media and many fans. It's the music that signifies growth and maturity; and I think Kelly has certainly delivered in that arena. I just don't know why she feels the need to show her stomach and cleavage to get that across, and this video is a culmination of things i've started thinking since this album came out pretty much... the BTHE video would've been just as great and still have gotten her point across if she had covered up a bit in that scene. she looks really pretty in the wedding dress/black dress scenes. It's just a bit gratuitous for my tastes. it's not a plot point or anything. IMO it alienates some female fans. After holding a magnifying glass up to my computer screen in a futile attempt to locate this cleavage you speak of (hey, I'm probably the biggest Kelly fan on this board, but that doesn't mean I don't get enjoyment out of mocking her lack of boobs ), I guess I disagree. It's obvious to me that the scenes where she's wearing the the tangled ball of yarn masquerading as a shirt are not the selling point of the video (unless you want to interpret those scenes as Kelly the performer putting on a brave face to the world despite inner turmoil), and I think that if she were trying to use skin to sell records, she would have been on the cover of [insert men's magazine here] about 6 months ago. Occasionally, she'll wear a low-cut or backless top, and she seems to be favoring midriff-baring ensembles at the moment, but that's about it. No micro-minis, no assless chaps, etc. I think she's definitely a bit more comfortable with her body than she was a year or two ago, so when she's playing dress-up for appearances or videos sometimes she does flaunt it a bit more than she used to. I can sorta see where it might bother some people (particularly those at the extreme ends of the age spectrum in her fanbase), but it doesn't really bother me (then again, I practically live in low-rise jeans and form-fitting tops when I'm not lying on the beach in a skimpy bikini, so I don't get why someone 4 years older than I am is being criticized for not being covered up at all times). I was waiting for your reply, and you said what I thought you were going to say ;)

The SUBG cover in Australia is the same as the American BTHE radio promo cover. It's really not an issue.
And it looks like Kelly will have two songs in the Top 4 within two days tops.

On Billboard's Mainstream Top 40, she manages the very rare feat of two songs in the Top 5:
SUBG - No. 3 (from 2) BTHE - No. 5 (from 11)

Have no idea...just know it's very rare...and may be some kind of first (i.e. 1st female, etc).

Just for reference, the UK cover of SUBG matches the American promo cover posted by Kiki.

I wish on iTunes, for singles, they would release a single version with a personal cover for the single, that includes more than one version, just like a normal commercial single. That would rock and boost downloads a lot

I wish Kelly could score three consecutive #1's with this... but I don't think it will happen. Hollaback Girl is soo huge... I think it will completely shut this out if it makes it to #2. Maybe if this song has enough longevity it will make it.

^^sorry but Hollaback Girl is a JAM!, that cannot be touched! it may be a jam, but Kelly's hazel eyes are awesome! They cannot be beat. Only one single out there is better than it now.

it's too early to say that this song won't beat HG for the #1 spot. with SUBG, 'boulevard' was also strong but that song hang on to #2 and managed to go #1 for 7 weeks! the video was just released, kelly has not protoed this single on TV shows yet and a fourth single is already decided for gwen. IMHO, all signs right now is saying that BTHE has at least a 50/50 shot at number 1 in pop.

^^sorry but Hollaback Girl is a JAM!, that cannot be touched! Hollaback Girl was a JAM for about 10 mintues, then I got sick and tired of it. BTHE video was JUST released, and alot of the General Public has yet to see it. I think that if BTHE can stay consistant..#1 isnt out of the question.

I think there's a good chance of Kelly making it three for three.
It'd be fine with me if Gwen locked Kelly out of #1 and she then got a #2 peak. I mean, #2 is huge, lol.
