I'm going to try not to predict the chart performance of BTHE - it's too stressful and because I have no idea how radio is going to react to this song.

Am I the only one who doesn't see "Behind These Hazel Eyes" as a second single? It's a third! I can understand it being second if "Breakaway" was being treated as an album track. But no, the album is named after it, and it's the first song. It was released so close to "Since U Been Gone;" it completely feels like the first single.

I don't feel comfortable calling Breakaway the first single because it was released by Disney on a movie soundtrack 4 months before Kelly's album was released. It was always going to be on her album, but I have a feeling that RCA only decided to name the album after it because it was such a big hit that was still going strong when it came time to start promoting the album (and is still going strong on AC and Hot AC). Since U Been Gone was the first song released by RCA in support of the album.

All I have to say is Kelly's background vocals and ad-libs on this track are phenominal.

But look at Avril Lavigne. "Don't Tell Me" was also released four months before the album release. Yeah... but it was released in promotion of her album. Not another album entirely. Breakaway's promotion was paid for by Disney, not RCA... which is what makes me think of SUBG as the first single.

For Kelly's sake, let's hope "Breakaway" is counted as the 1st single because if not, then RCA will probably want to release 3 or 4 more songs off of the album and people will get sick of kelly. I consider "Since U Been Gone" the 2nd single, meaning i expect nothing more than two more singles off of this album.

Well I doubt they would keep releasing songs if it was hurting Kelly's performance on radio and in album sales. As long as album sales stay steady and radio remains receptive, I have no problem with them releasing every song on the album as a single.

Kelly was just on Kiss FM here in Dallas on the phone and she said she will be doing promo for this later on this month before the tour so get ready to see her perform this! I can't wait.

She's performing on the Today Show and Regis & Kelly next week, and she's also taping an episode of Last Call With Carson Daly that will air the following week. I hope she performs it more like the acoustic version she did for VH1 than the album version.

Yeah I also hope she does it the acoustic way.. didn't she sing BTHE when she did the Jingle Balls concerts? People said it was a mess if I remember..
Kelly has a great voice but I wasn't impressed by her tv performances of SUBG.. she does great when there is not a lot of instrumentations backing her.

how does everyone think Because Of You will get nominated for a grammy? I mean I think it could happen, but some people act as if it's a for-sure thing. I totally agree…let’s remember that “Breakaway” didn’t receive any Grammy nods. This is hands down the most popular and most critically acclaimed song from Kelly so far. If it didn’t receive a nomination, then the odds of “Because of You” getting a nod are very unlikely. (That’s not to say that it’s undeserving) I am a huge Kelly fan, and I have to admit that “Behind These Hazel Eyes,” wasn’t one of my favorites from the record at first. However, it has really grown on me over the past few weeks. My favorite parts are the two verses….at first though; I really didn’t like how the verses progressed into the chorus. It just seemed that the song was taking a totally different turn, one that sounded a bit awkward. After hearing it on the air though, those initial reservations are gone. It’s another total smash!

(That’s not to say that it’s undeserving) Then again, Miss Independent was nominated for a Grammy (Best Female Pop Vocal Performance). I get what you're saying about the transition from the verses to the chorus. Personally, I love the verses, but there's something about the production of the chorus that I don't really like. However, the bridge is my favorite part of the song-the high, soft "Anymore" after the big belted one just floors me.

I like the beginning the most. The second "anymore" after the bridge is the only thing I don't like in this song.

So, has BTHE been confirmed as the third single? If so, that's great cause it's one of my favorite songs from her. If not, nearly anything she (or her record company) picks is good too.

It has been confirmed. It's mentioned on her official site as the next single, and the video will supposedly be shot next weekend. Because Of You will most likely be the next single after BTHE.

I agree. I really don't see what all the fuss is about "Because Of You". It's a nice song, but I think it would be best if left as an album track. "Addicted" however, that just screams 'Pop Smash! Pop Smash!' Besides, Kelly needs a more positive single. She can't be all depressed in her singles if she's trying to project her 'I'm a happy person' image. "Addicted" is different from anything out there right now. It would be a good choice, IMO.

I think it would be a better choice as a single for Pop, but I think BOY could clean up on AC and I'm positive it would secure her at least a Grammy nomination.

It's not happy, I agree, it's got more of a raw energy to it....it's just not sad, like most tracks on the album.

I personally prefer either Hear Me or Walk Away I love those. I was listening to "Hear Me" on my iPod today...I'm liking it a lot more now. And "Walk Away" has always been a favorite. It's just so tough to rank songs on this album, it's too solid! :o

Let's face it, this album is simply amazing. Every song on it could and should be a single. I agree that BTHE is a good choice and will do well. I think she needs Because of You as the fourth, and fifth I would do "Hear Me"

I love the energy to 'Addicted' and it sounds much more radio friendly than 'BOY'.
'Addicted' feels like more of a climatic song plus Kelly has said this was among her favourites from the album.
