Meh... I'd rather have some new Def Leppard!

Okay this is starting to gain some traction at mainstream radio, and I have to say this is the best new Def Leppard in a long, long time, at least as far as rock is concerned.
This might even get a moderate amount of play at active rock. Def leppard's myspace page has the song playing. I like it a lot more than I thought I would.

Def Leppard just makes me sad now. I used to like them when I was a kid. As the years went on they were one of my favorite "old school" rock bands through the 80's and 90's. I was probably one of the only people on the planet who actually really liked the Slang album. I was disappointed at how much it was hated but oh well, such is life. But over the last few years they've just fallen off my radar completely. This feels like a massive stretch to regain something lost. Unfortunately for me, it falls on deaf ears, I just cant get into this song at all.

Well, it's taking off at mainstream anyway, up to #16 with over 100 spins and I don't believe it has even officially went for adds yet.
I also think the initial response is overwhelmingly good for a Def Leppard single. This one could really surprise.

Seriously: I could write an essay - an argumentative, logical essay -, right here, right now, on why Pyromania and Hysteria (especially Hysteria) are, critically and artistically speaking, two of the most criminally underrated albums of the 1980's. Right now, all I've got to say is that, at best, this song will get them some renewed cred with their core rock fanbase, after the pop departures of both X and Yeah!. But try as they might - and as much as I root for them -, I just can't see them getting another major hit. Not with this, or with anything, to be honest. I think they already passed a reasonable timetable to achieve a full-fledged mainstream comeback, so all they can do now is just chug along in the most dignified way possible, preaching to the converted. It's just the way it is, as far as I'm concerned.

Just pretend Tim McGraw isn't in this and it's great.

Uh, the link is your radio. Well-played. Just pretend Tim McGraw isn't in this and it's great. Haven't heard it yet, but personally, I don't see how Tim McGraw could be a detractor.

Yeah, it's much better without Tim McGraw, but I actually don't think he detracts from it too much, it still works.
