Who are they? And why are they getting such an easy ride up the Active Rock chart?

Yeah, they're another post-grunge/southern rock band, but I can't say they're half-bad.

I've started to warm up to this song...very hooky. You can watch the video over at Playboy.com... I'll just be reading the articles ![](http://yoursmiles.org/ssmile/fun/s0244.gif)

Oh my God. F**k this song/band.
How could a girl not be honored by a chorus written about her like that? Oh, but don't be fooled. They're "tough" guys, so this is really a hating-the-one-you-love song.
Make your case for hard rock credibility by swearing. That always works. Oh, and I see they've got a song called "New Tattoo." That's totally fuccin kewl!!!!!1! What badasses!!!
Gotta ride that Hinder gravy train, don't you, Saving Abel/Virgin Records?
Gee, and their album cover is a girl's ass in jeans, with the band's logo tramp stamped on her. Ohhhh, and she's starting to pull down the left side of her jeans!!!!!!!! Maybe, JUST MAYBE, if we're lucky, she'll be NAKED on the inside of the CD booklet!!!!!
If the song didn't say "f**k this band," then the album cover would've done the trick anyway.
EDIT: Oh my god, the crap just keeps piling up. From their bio:
WHERE DO I SIGN UP?????

I really am getting tired of rock bands like this showing up. It gives the good rock bands a bad name.

hey nicholas2.0 im just curious.....after reading your last few comments, is there any music you DO like? I'm not trying to start shit, im just curious, pretty much all the last posts you've made have been to either bash or say something's not interesting. You're totally free to have that opinion, I'm just wondering what you do like.
As for this song....personally, its alright, for a listen or three, then its forgettable and goes away real fast. However, if they keep this formula they'll probably become HUGE, lol.

hey nicholas2.0 im just curious.....after reading your last few comments, is there any music you DO like? I'm not trying to start s**t, im just curious, pretty much all the last posts you've made have been to either bash or say something's not interesting. You're totally free to have that opinion, I'm just wondering what you do like. Well, with those last few comments I assume you're talking about, it started as having the free time today to seek the songs in the Mediabase Top 50 that I hadn't heard yet (and may never, otherwise). When I realized that Safetysuit's song was actually a mystery song I'd been hearing lately on KQQX, I went to their website to look up the others that I'd heard during my weekend trip. I just dug up the topics for the others and continued seeking out the Top 50 songs I hadn't heard (or heard much yet). On the front page alone, I enjoy Muse, Pennywise, DragonForce, Silversun Pickups, R.E.M. (that single's pretty sharp), Disturbed usually put out at least decent singles, Bullet for My Valentine are pretty good, Seether has a couple of good singles, Def Leppard, Tim McGraw's singles are usually reliable, Weezer (though their albums have generally gone downhill), Death Cab's decent, and the Raconteurs are okay. My favorite 10 artists of all-time are: Tool, AFI, Rancid, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Garbage, Nine Inch Nails, Madonna, Avenged Sevenfold, Bad Religion and U2. Plus my recent avatar that I had for maybe a year, until the website I got it from got rid of it, was Justin Timberlake.

Alot of people wouldnt admit to that if most of their tastes were alt/rock leaning. i've always had a soft spot for Madonna too but I grew up with her in the 80's so its not that strange for me. I'm a pretty big fan of most of the 80's, even the cheesy stuff. Cheers for playing along

There's certainly a lot worse someone could listen to than Madonna.
Saving Abel, for example.

Man. If I hadn't dismissed them from their stale sound alone, it probably would have actually pissed me off if I'd gotten far enough to hear what they're saying.

I can see why people like it...it's not terrible musically, but as people are saying, they're just a slightly better Hinder, ie, a slightly better version of my least favorite band in existence. It's better enough that in RateTheMusic surveys, I say that "I don't like it" rather than "I don't like it at all." The only song on the top 30 portion of the active rock chart to receive that honor from me recently has been Airbourne's "Too Much, Too Young, Too Fast." Something about being a worse version of AC/DC (the most overrated band of all-time IMO) is even more nauseating than being a better version of Hinder (the worst band of all time IMO). All they hype Black Tide is getting pisses me off too, because "Shockwave" just isn't that good. Everything else within the top 30 is at least "so so."

^^ The only two songs in the top 30 that I dislike are also "Too Much, Too Young, Too Fast" and "Shockwave." Interesting.
As competitive as the top 10 is now, this song seems to have no problem moving up. I wonder if they will have as much success as Hinder. I wouldn't be surprised. It seems that they picked up right where Hinder left off.

^^ The only two songs in the top 30 that I dislike are also "Too Much, Too Young, Too Fast" and "Shockwave." Interesting. Well Airbourne's is definitely my least favorite, but Saving Abel's "Addicted" is second. I like "Shockwave" better than those two, but it's still one that I'd only give a 2/5. There are a lot of bands whose first singles I didn't like who I've gone on to like much more. Red, for example..."Breathe Into Me" just felt like a Linkin Park clone to me, but "Let Go" and "Already Over" are more unique and epic songs. So maybe Black Tide has some songs up their sleeve that I'll be able to get into. I have a feeling Airbourne and Saving Abel won't.

I like Hinder better than Saving Abel thus far. But perhaps that's just because they've had 4+ singles to Saving Abel's one so far. I may think differently after they release a few more.

That Airbourne song kicks so much ass and takes so many names it's not even funny. It's the good kind of sleaze-rock, not the "Crazy Bitch"/"So Hott" bullshit we've had forced on us. That being said, the rest of the album really sucks.

Is their name suppose to have a biblical meaning to it? If so, I'm repulsed.

This song, anyway, musically sounds more like Hinder than it does Buckcherry. Hinder and Saving Abel both sound slightly more modern in their guitar playing and their production, while Buckcherry feels like straight up classic rock.
Vocally, I agree that the singer is almost like a better version of the dude from Buckcherry.
All three bands are not really on my good side, though Buckcherry used to be years ago. I thought the song "For The Movies" was pretty cool.
