I didn't know where to post this but I guess I can put it here. This is her new single produced by Rodney Jerkins. She performed it on The View this morning.

Here's an MP3 of her performance. Her vocals are nice, but it sounds like Rodney Jerkins didn't want to get involved working too hard on a single for someone who won't make it a hit. The lyrics are so cliche and the beat sounds like something he took out of the vaults from 3 years ago. s21.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=0UM1FT7XFQGD738EHBBZ5OCETG

Thanks for posting the audio! For those who want to see the video, it is in the Taylor Dayne thread in the "Music News" section.
This is not finished yet, it is still being mixed. I hope that they also have dance mixes.

Oh, and another thing, I don't totally agree with what you said.
Even if Rodney thinks the song will not do so well, it is still a bad reflection on him if the song is not strong.
Probably more on him than her. She will still be an 80's icon either way.

I just don't think Rodney gave her strong material here.

Oh, I know. I'm just saying Taylor has nothing to lose really.
I agree Rodney should have given her a song as instantly catchy as "Lose My Breath".

Even if Rodney thinks the song will not do so well, it is still a bad reflection on him if the song is not strong. I agree. And if Rodney was responsible for making some1 like Taylor Dayne a relevant artist again, it would be HUGE for him. It would really say somthing about his ability as a hit maker. I dont think he just decided to give her weak material just because she isnt a DC or something. Perhaps in his mind, its a good pop/rock song and he is happy with it. I really dont htink it was intentionally thought out to jus tgive her weak material. At th eend of th eday it does reflect on him more so than her because its his name they are sprouting out everywhere.

Just FYI, there is a fan over at Taylor's board that said he heard the studio version of "Right Now" and that it's a lot better than the live version. He said the guitar is more prominent, and it sounds like a sample of "Billie Jean" perhaps. He's not too sure about the sample part.
He said her vocals were even better! I'm dying to hear this! He said the people over at the View messed up the music.

Her 1990 charttopper 'Love Will Lead You Back' was a standout in what was undoubtedly the best year for female vocalists in years, and there certainly hasn't been a year that extraordinary for female vocalists since.
It was certainly among the best songs Diane Warren ever wrote as well.
