Unfortunately, Billboard has it wrong, because it's called "Given Up." However, Billboard is probably reliable enough that it's a good bet that this is the next single.

I knew this would be a single at some point. It was just a given to me as soon as I heard the album. It screamed "single!!!" I can't disagree with the choice since it's probably one of my favorites on the album.

I woulda preferred "No More Sorrow" myself. And given how much more pop-aimed this album has been, I wouldn't be surprised if single #5 is a softer track like "Leave Out All the Rest." I agree that "Given Up" should be a single though, I just hope "No More Sorrow" gets a chance to do some damage too.

Good choice for the fourth single. I'm sure the last single will be "Leave Out All The Rest", although I'd like to see them do something unexpected and release "The Little Things Give You Away".

I'd expect a softer song for the fifth single as well and those two choices said above would definitely get my vote. I think they're pretty much following the trend of singles with "Meteora" except "What I've Done" is a lot softer than "Somewhere I Belong."

I'd like to see them do something unexpected and release "The Little Things Give You Away". Considering Bush will be leaving office soon (much sooner, once "Given Up" runs its course) and Hurricane Katrina was over a couple years ago now, I think releasing "Little Things" as a single would be poorly timed.

That's true, but it's a beautiful song, and although I know what that song is about, I've always kind of reinterpreted it my own way anyway. I think most people do that, actually.

Should go #1. I'm surprised Shadow of the did so well for being such a slow song.

Should go #1. I'm surprised Shadow of the did so well for being such a slow song. Once again: There's a difference between "slow" and "mellow." "Little Things Give You Away" = slow (and mellow, too) "Shadow of the Day" = mellow

Eh, for my money probably the worst song on the album, and one of the few duds.
I would have prefered "No More Sorrow" or something next, but oh well.

Ah, a return to the formula that made them successful in the first place.
A guaranteed #1.

^I wouldn't be so sure of that...just because a lot of stations have already been playing it over the last 6 months, averaging about 100 plays on alternative and about 60 plays a week on active rock. And it hasn't been the exact same stations the whole time. If a bunch of stations added it 6 months ago, they're not gonna add it again if they think their listeners could be sick of it. Otherwise, yes this would be a guaranteed #1.

Yeah, it's definitely their most rote, boring song on the record. It's not exactly my least favorite, but it's probably, like, ninth. And the jangly keys quickly turns from "interesting" to "quirky/annoying."

5 singles from Hybrid Theory 6 singles from Meteora I'd say there'll probably be 6 from this one at least. They just keep releasing singles and videos at such short intervals that they might have to release every song if they wanna wait another four years inbetween albums. I'd expect a softer song for the fifth single as well... I'd agree with you, had they not already released "Shadow of the Day" as the last single. Then again, I don't know what else it could be. The only song that really fell in between really hard and really soft was "What I've Done." And of course that one did well on both pop and rock. So yeah, I guess "Leave Out All the Rest" would be my choice for a fifth single, and then I think they'll go back to a harder one and select "No More Sorrow" for a sixth single.

What about "In Pieces"? A lot of people really seem to like that one, and that kind of falls between hard and soft. I dunno, just for sake of argument.

This album just isn't as strong as their older ones. With Given Up being released 4th, the only other single-capable songs I see are "Leave Out All the Rest" and "No More Sorrow" and maybe "Valentine's Day."

"In Pieces" reminds of The Police.

When I first heard Minutes to Midnight, In Pieces was the song that stood out the most. More recently, I've grown to love No More Sorrow.
At their show last Thursday at MSG, there were no letdowns. However, Between Given Up and No More Sorrow, there was no contest; No More Sorrow was the best received song of the entire evening (Encore came close, but I'm not a huge Jay-Z fan).
I'm still keeping my fingers crossed...
