This apparently is going to be the third single from "A Modern Way of Living with the Truth." The band posted the new video for this on their website at www.the-exies.com/quotes.html

Shit, I'd already forgotten they put out an album last year. Second single?

Second single was God Do We Look Good (Going Down in Flames), which didn't actually make the album....they re-released the album digitally.

"Different Than You". I think it went top 30 on Active Rock.

It's alright. When I think of The Exies, I think "My Goddess" & "Kickout," but if you asked me to name the singles from the last two albums, I'd have a hard time thinking about it. I guess it's just because unfortunately none of them did very well.

Except for "Ugly".

That's true. I forgot about that song. I remember WPBZ played "Ugly" so freaking much for such a long period of time that I started to change the station whenever it came on back then.

Well with "My Goddess" and "Kickout," I didn't think they were a bad band.
Then "Ugly" was a monstrous sleeper hit that wouldn't die, and that was unfortunately a shitty post-grunge song. So technically, they might not be too bad of a band overall, but with "Ugly" leaving such a bad taste in my mouth, I haven't cared to hear anything from them since. (Which is interesting, because I don't think I have heard anything from them since, because all their singles have bombed.)

I've downloaded some of their older songs and they definitely aren't as bland as the stuff they're releasing now. I think that the singles they've released from "My Goddess" on don't have the same energy they used to.

The Exies have kind of disappointed me a little, since their first album felt like a real solid mix of styles, and then their second album turned out to just be a straightforward post-grunge affair with the old ballad thrown on. I was hoping since they moved to a new label that their newest album would be a return to form, but no such luck. I guess the call to commercialize is too strong.

This song just realy struck a chord with me that most of their songs haven't. I really hope this does well.

In my station's new music battle the other night, I came in halfway through the new Sick Puppies song, which was up against the reigning champion, this song. As much as I try to give every song a shot, I could not listen to this for a minute on the heels of the Sick Puppies song, they were both so uninspired and played out.
