How many impressions would a song need approximately to hit number one on billboard? The #1 song in the country has 212.384M impressions right now.

I was worried earlier this week that Green Day would be passed by Eminem before the Grammys, but that doesn't look like it'll happen now, so Boulevard looks in good shape to hit #1 for at least one week. Ciara will take #1 next week, it looks like. So, my #1 projections for the 6-8 weeks: This week: Mario Next 3 weeks: Ciara Next 2 weeks: Kelly ??? weeks: Green Day
P.S.: Maroon 5's bullet is back up to +237!!! I glad, but I have absolutely no clue where this will peak. Frankie J is the only one that looks like it'll obviously pass it right now, "Sunday Morning" is up in the air now, though I think it has a chance at top 10. (Maybe)

Yesterday there were 40 spins separating J. Lo and Maroon 5. I was worried that J. Lo was going to pass M5, but it looks like she's stalling quickly enough for that not to happen. Today M5 is 87 spins ahead!

Lala is dropping like a rock just like Shadow. I seriously think that her career is over and she won't get any more hits.

I'm pissed Eminem leapfrogged Lovers & Friends for a Top 10 slot.
L&F bullet is dying and it might peak at #11 because Jay-Z and Linkin Park are right behind them, and by the time the #9 song drops out, L&F probably will have lost its bullet by then and Jay-Z will get in.
>:(
DAMN Eminem! He couldn't wait another few days?? Like he really needed another Top 10
I dont wanna see L&F peak at #11!
Did L&F EVER go for adds at any of the three formats?
That's pretty damn good, it almost went Top 10 on Pop, will hit #1 on Urban and #2 on Rhy and it's not even an official "single".
I hope they don't shoot a video for it though. By that point the song will be tired.
If they ever do release a video, it won't come out until like early March and there will be no point then.
A video will not be able to save this song now, right?

This will undoubtedly be an intensely competitive weekend, no question about that.
Here's my prediction for the weekend:
* Mario will have another week at #1 (Ciara will top the chart a week from Sunday)
* Kelly Clarkson's "Since U Been Gone" will be #3 and will force Jesse McCartney back to #4, but Destiny's Child and Green Day will NOT force him back in time to #6. At the beginning of next week will be the moment both artists push him back.
* Green Day's "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" will leapfrog "Soldier" by Sunday evening's update.
The predicted Top Five for this weekend:
1: Mario: "Let Me Love You" 2: Ciara: "1, 2 Step" 3: Kelly Clarkson: "Since U Been Gone" 4: Jesse McCartney: "Beautiful Soul" 5: Green Day: "Boulevard of Broken Dreams"
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

Way to go Ciara, Green Day & Eminem! These are all great songs that will more than likely get to #1 at some point or another, and they deserve it. Never thought Ciara would have another hit anywhere as big as Goodies, boy was I wrong! Never thought in a million years Beautiful Soul would do this well, but I'm glad it has. I had a feeling pop would screw it over thanks to his age, Disney affiliation, etc., but they proved me wrong. Soldier has got to be one of the most hilariously stupid songs ever. What the hell does "We like them boys up top from the B.K." mean? Oh, and how could I forget "Known to carry big things if you know what I mean" Good to see Maroon 5 picking back up. For a minute there I was afraid it was done, and although it's not totally out of trouble, I think we'll see it peak just outside the Top 10. It's a great song and a breath of fresh air for pop radio. Okay, Karma needs to pick up NOW!!! I will be one P-O'ed M-F'er if this flops thanks to stupid decisions by MD's. This is even better than If I Ain't Got You...but it's been up and down like a wave ever since it made the Top 50. CHR radio...take notice! Hope Crossfade makes some waves. That's a great song that got screwed royally the first time around, and it's not off to a bad re-start. Maybe this time, it can make the Top 40. Also be on the lookout for Candy Shop. Cool song, but pretty dirty too. But I guess if Magic Stick could go top 10, who knows.

Soldier has got to be one of the most hilariously stupid songs ever. Completely agree. I'm SHOCKED it's this high to be honest, Beyonce or not. 2 of my favorite 2004 album tracks. Really glad M5 is hanging in there, it's already had decent longevity even though it's performance was never on fire. Hopefully it'll keep chugging. Alicia though, I mean this is a great song. PDs should be giving all of "Only U"'s spins to Alicia instead... I really don't understand. Alicia has been one of the most popular artists of '04, she's young and talented, and now she FINALLY put out a single that caters to Pop needs, and it's barely making a dent.

Karma deserves to do a lot better than it's doing right now. I'm hoping that some Grammy wins in high-profile categories will help, but I fear that the chart performance of this song might prevent Alicia from releasing more uptempos in the future. Not that I don't love Alicia's ballads (if I had a personal chart, If I Ain't Got You probably would have been my #1 for the year), but she has what it takes to do hot uptempo tracks as well, and I'd hate to see her be stuck releasing only slower stuff.

Karma's not getting what it deserves.
It 2005, on my personal chart it's gone:
20-14-07-14 and it's currently #10 for 2005.
