The anti-Clear Channel theme on this site is amusing as hell.

Even more amusing are those who fear to speak ill of the almighty CC lest they lose their jobs. It's okay. One day you might emerge from captivity. Until then, be brave & think M.O.R. thoughts.

Hey all, I'm new here. But this is funny to find. I was listening to a CC channel on my drive home and they had this DJ (usually obnoxious) filling in for the reg. host. He was taking requests & just winging it. Wasnt playing what he was supposed to. I'll give him some credit for that. But the GM was getting so pissed! Apparently sent in another DJ in there to spy on him too! Highlarious. He called the spy out & then he recorded the GM Giving him hell for not playing what he was supposed to & just playing requests. So funny.

I cant say I'd be sad if they did. But he's been apart of the crew on the morning show for as long as I can remember & its a very successful syndicated morning show. So I think he could be safe. Which is unfortunatle, bc he is really lame.

Monopolies of any kind, especially media monopolies are simply a bad thing period. control of the airwaves by anyone whether the government or private industry is harmful to a free society. Corruption and Payola have always been part of the media but on smaller individual scales. A company like CCC has so much power they can make a fraud artist and kill a talented one whenever they feel the need. In markets like LA where they control multiple formats and "protect" their other stations by requiring songs to be played first on one station before they can ever be played on another can be devastating to a mainstream performer. And lets not even talk about the possible political agenda they can impose.
Pure and simple, companies like CC, are bad for the radio and record business and ultimately bad for the listeners and music fans.

Maybe Clear Channel could do something to improve shows with Ryan Seacrest in it!

Considering that Casey Kasem's show are owned by Clear Channel, at least something is going right for them. He's the best thing on radio in my opinion.

Then why does AT40 with Ryan "deadbeat" Seacrest snub "Cry For You" in recent weeks???

It's not just radio, pretty much everything in our lives these days is controlled by a monopoly or near-monopoly. All of this deregulation stuff that started during the Clinton admin is coming back to haunt us now just as I predicted it would 15 years ago. For far too long, it's been all about Wall Street and the shareholders... As we can plainly see, there's not much more way for these monopolies to create artificial profits today. Things are now sadly imploding right before our very eyes.

Clear Channel has essentially destroyed two of the top five stations in their entire portfolio (AC behemoths KOST/LA & WLTW/NYC) by being far too addicted to cost-cutting.
Honda, Nordstrom, and numerous other very prestigious companies would never do something so stupid.
